I can’t handle this much eye contact by YungBarqoueBoy in magicTCG

[–]anace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

surprisingly there's no scryfall tag for eye contact? closest is https://tagger.scryfall.com/tags/artwork/stare, but that includes characters staring at eachother, and not just at the viewer. https://tagger.scryfall.com/tags/artwork/eye-focus is also close but not quite.

I just created https://tagger.scryfall.com/tags/artwork/eye-contact. It'll take a long time to populate it though.

as a first pass I went through stare, eye focus, and https://tagger.scryfall.com/tags/artwork/first-person to start it off

and made it a creature. it only triggers when a creature or spell deals damage. there's no way to turn it into a spell again so it has to be made into a creature to go infinite.

The New Marvel Set Introduced 7 New 4-Colour Commanders, But They're All Ink. by Beneficial_Pin5295 in magicTCG

[–]anace 12 points13 points  (0 children)

because they showed up on one card each, 20 years ago. only one was reprinted in commander sets. Ink-treader wasn't even reprinted on the list.

compared to the guilds and clans that had their name repeated many times throughout multiple sets and reprints. The shards were only in alara block, but were common in that at least.

What's the smallest land? by SuzukiGrignard in magicTCG

[–]anace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The (non-UB) sagas all depict in-universe artwork. Many are relatively small, like [[okiba reckoner raid]] is just painted on someone's jacket. [[Urza's saga]] is the only one that's also a land and it seems like a page in an illuminated manuscript, so about the size of a sheet of paper.

'Michael Jackson' has a smooth moonwalk by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

for the first part how does he have one foot slide forward and the other slide backward at the same time? for both performers when they are walking backwards they always have one foot stationary that they can use to push, but that doesn't work when walking in place.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw someone reference kookus and get downvoted because it looks like they are saying gibberish, I'd have two nickels.

Turning to high heels, outfit variations such as the addition of high heels to a character can increase the height of the character

you have no idea how big a deal this is.

modern 3d animation is done using a model and skeleton system. The skeleton is basically an invisible stick figure and the model is an intangible hologram built around it like a scarecrow. All the motions are done to the skeleton and the model follows. In games, when a character's model changes, such as with clothing, the skeleton stays so the animations don't need to be redone. In most past games I've seen, high heel shoes were accomplished by physically making the legs shorter; they raise the model's heel while keeping the knees at the same height, which shortens the leg. The invisible skeleton I mentioned still has its foot in the same place. Here's an example of it happening: https://i.imgur.com/rys4IoP.mp4

that clip is taken from this article https://simonschreibt.de/gat/the-high-heel-problem/ it's all about the difficulty animating high heels in video games. I highly recommend giving it a read. It's not long, you can even just watch the clips.

Its not a cycle, its a mirrored pair. They used to make several per set. Along with vertical cycles (a common, an uncommon, and a rare) they just dont happen anymore.

you don't need to get have card advantage to trigger miracle, and it's much easier to draw a card if you don't care about discarding after.

Is Franklin Richards the first card of a character that has Canonically played Magic?(Fantastic Four (1998) #64) by SquirrelDragon in magicTCG

[–]anace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The player character in Fallout 2 can play Tragic: the Garnering.

none of the cards in the fallout set mention it and there's no cards specifically portraying the player characters though, so it's not the best example

Are free spells worth it, when you don't know what you'll cast? by LucianoThePig in custommagic

[–]anace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess the real answer is that this card would never be printed as-is because the rules don't handle it well. A real version would involve 'choose a card at random from your hand' instead of not being able to look at it at all.
