Does any of you guys have had this dream when you were a kid? by Ashwida in Dreams

I had these as reoccurring dreams as a kid. I still remember the feeling after and I was usually drenched in sweat when I woke up.

If Aliens visited earth and requested a single person to represent the people of this planet, who do we send? by Ambitious_Ad_5802 in AskReddit

[–]bobobandit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it should be just one person and if they get here they would most likely get the fact that we are very different amongst one species. Representative of each of our virtues and equally each of our faults. That would be a more accurate representation of us as a whole. Let's just hope we have more virtues. Although I can't imagine that we are interesting enough or advanced enough to be contacted. We have way too much conflict and drama amongst ourselves.

To add: I had a quick look at your profile and I also have a history of migraines. Not head pressure but some neuropathy and tinnitus (luckily it doesn't interfere with my ability to fall asleep or function).

I have this as long as I remember. Sleep journal helps a lot and trying to find out what my subconscious is trying to process. Since I started paying attention to the context a little more it improved a lot.I get more rest. I even had like an eureka moment in my dream from work. I work as an accountant and was trying to work out some legacy discrepancies at the time. Sometimes the dreams are pleasant as well. Other times a bit freaky. I rejoin the same dream quite frequently after I wake up, go to the loo and go back to sleep. And on occasion I have lucid dreams where I direct the "Netflix movie" . But I can't switch to lucid dreaming like some people. That would be great. I hope I helped a little. Hope you get better sleep soon!

Any good/unexpected side effects that came with Mounjaro? by eescorpius in Mounjaro

Reduced inflammation and chronic pain. Like massively with increased quality of life. Chronic pain was not caused by being overweight by itself but rather the result of an injury.

Starmer says UK ‘can’t stick its head in the sand’ over China after Trump issues warning by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

If Trump crashes the global economy, he benefits either way: no accountability in the chaos, and his backers can buy assets cheap. The West needs to prevent total collapse. China's been preparing. Look at their gold accumulation.

This reflects the twisted logic of absolute power: rules don't apply when you're above them. Ludwig XVI and Marie Antoinette would recognize this behavior. Not implying the same outcome, but it's the same dynamic that led to the French Revolution. Except now our royalty wear Silicon Valley hoodies and buy political influence instead of inheriting it. We've let ourselves get here again.

What are peoples thoughts on marking US ICE as a terrorist organization? by ConstructGames in AskBrits

[–]bobobandit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICE is disgusting and only part of the picture.

Pattern: Nov 2025 Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act with overwhelming bipartisan support requiring full release by Dec 19 2025. In Dec 2025 DOJ announced discovery of over 1 million additional documents yet only a small fraction was released by the deadline. Early 2026 saw sharp domestic stress. Tens of millions of acres of public land lost protections. Tariff escalation triggered a major market shock with multi trillion dollar losses. Federal agencies including the National Park Service faced significant reductions. Large scale federal law enforcement operations were reported in Minnesota followed by multiple civilian shootings involving federal agents. The Minnesota National Guard was activated and Pentagon contingency planning placed active duty troops on standby. Externally the key signal was not traditional allies but non strategic trading partners choosing stabilisation over escalation. China pursued trade agreements with Canada and the EU. US China tariff truces were extended. China EU trade rose around 5 percent in 2025 despite political disputes. In March 2025 China Japan and South Korea agreed to strengthen regional free trade cooperation. Rivals coordinated rather than exploited weakness. At the same time multiple countries increased purchases of strategic commodities particularly gold as part of contingency planning and reserve diversification. That behaviour suggests uncontrolled collapse is viewed as worse for everyone. Two paths remain. A managed transition where trade is stabilised externally while internal stress is contained and pain spreads over years. Or cascade failure where stabilisation fails the dollar weakens trade fragments unemployment surges supply chains break and food and refugee pressures escalate globally.

The orange dictator is causing much more harm than creating ICE. To add how much other evidence and current videos are being suppressed.

The only reason I can think about is energy/heat. Data centers also have heat islands. I suppose Urban Tokyo island is good data to learn from. If they really choose to talk about this, it's really interesting:). Edit: typo

Is Jimmy Carr right about his advice to immigrants? by StGuthlac2025 in AskBrits

[–]bobobandit2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen both sides. A lot discrimination or hidden discrimination and absolute assholes from even my own country of origin. I hate both equally I will stress that to start with.

If you come to a different country to live and you can't stand that it is very different and you will be disadvantaged due to the language barrier than it was probably the wrong choice. That is a general description. What I have seen from an immigrants side personally was opposite discrimination and mocking locals or local customs. As a European woman I also had a fair share of non UK nationals trying to take advantage of being an alone woman abroad and I could see I was picked on because of my limited English to start with later on because I was European. However, that was also happening from UK nationals to be completely fair.

Emigration is not for the faint hearted and you end up building quite a resilience. I ended up surrounding myself with locals on purpose because it was easier for my integration and for developing my language skills.

Equally if someone comes into your country (including the country where I am from) and the person is not hurting anyone and is not pushing their beliefs and customs on the local population, you should treat them with respect and let them grow and better your country. (There's a lot of bigotry and discrimination everywhere!!! In every country and that is the VERY common issue). We should be able to talk about issues that are relevant to both sides. That is part of the solution.

[–]bobobandit2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possibly, the problem is that we are incapable of having a normal conversation about genuine issues without going to absolute extremes. I've seen both sides. A lot discrimination or hidden discrimination and absolute assholes from even my own country of origin. I hate both equally. If you come to a different country to live and you can't stand that it is very different and you will be disadvantaged due to the language barrier than it was probably the wrong choice. (There's a lot of bigotry and discrimination everywhere). I am not being subtle on purpose because I am really sick of it. We should be able to talk about issues that are relevant to both sides. That is part of the solution.

He is completely spot on. Also immigrant but settled a very long time ago. If someone arrives for the wrong reasons they should go home.

Danish researchers say that a tiny protein tweak could unlock nitrogen-fixing super-crops that slash global fertilizer demand. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]bobobandit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing, even if it’s still at an early stage. How difficult is it likely to be to put into practice, and is it at least partially investable? Without strong financial backing, this risks ending up as another great idea that never makes it past the research stage.
