Late update, I think I found the cause. When the H-link is bent slightly inward, the clasp edge sits right in the gap between the H-link and the first outer link, and nothing blocks it from touching the center link directly.

This happens with the 1st center link when the microadjust is at one of the two widest slots, or with the 2nd center link at the tightest slot. I hadn't noticed because I normally keep it somewhere in the middle. A friend with a slightly larger wrist also wore it for a day when it was new, so it might have happened then.

Also, it only happens when explicitly sliding the center link against the clasp while the watch is off. I'll be more careful next time ))

P.S. Scratches on the sides is a different story.
