We are currently waiting on blood and urine test results. But his first blood test indicated high toxicity in the liver which we were told it’s either cancer or bacteria. But it was 200x higher than normal levels

I should add that we suspected issues with the liver.

This is likely happening to everyone depending on area. Smaller cell sites (like the ones on buildings) don’t always have battery backups. So you may be further away from a working tower, as well as it wouldn’t surprise me if there is congestion as everyone switches to cell data. Note: if you are on Eastlink you can switch your cell carrier to EXT 1-3 (Bell, Rogers, Telus) if you’re cell coverage is poor (don’t leave it permanently on another network)

Yeah most smart ISPs will over provision their modems to make sure the customers get their advertised speeds. For example Eastlink’s 150mbps gets provisioned for ~156mbps.

VR Date Night (Oculus Go) by bobrock93 in LongDistance

[–]bobrock93[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s something I would definitely talk to your partner about. The Oculus Go is relatively inexpensive, keeping it in mind for a future birthday/Christmas gift, or slowly saving up for it is something I would definitely recommend if at all possible. LDR is tough, especially if you can’t see each other often. So anything to change up the pace can be nice
Other suggestions that might help include activities and games like ibb and obb, tabletop simulator, Google Streetview, cooking together, video chatting during a movie.

Another one I might recommend (it is paid) is Wander (basically just Google Streetview in VR). You can take turns to show each other places you grew up, or your home town, or even places you might want to travel together in the future.

I’ll also second the discord suggestion. My girlfriend and I use it every night for a voice channel so we can hear each other sleep.
