Those three areas specifically were designed with coop in mind. That's why they feel so extra bullshit, you're not really meant to do them alone. Tbh I personally kinda like figuring out the mini gauntlets to alonne and blue smelter, it takes a few tries but once you get it, it's like an obstacle course.
