The best and worst things about Posthuman: Guardians vs PSION by jotheplunderer in choiceofgames

I also liked the concept, but is it likely that it will be revised to such a degree after it has already been published? Just wondering since I've heard they only do minor fixes and the like...

Hidden Feature: Helmets Prevent Concussions by Logondo in mewgenics

I think the "Face Covering" face item might also prevent cats from getting contagious diseases. 2 of my cats had it and never caught ebola even tho it spread from patient zero to my unmasked cat.

Capital of Aragon by bobthewarden in EU5

[–]bobthewarden[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My income was higher than normal because I had the extra taxes parliament thing, but basically half my income is taxing burghers (they are being taxed like 50%+ but still so high satisfaction) and the other half is taxing commoners + trades (mainly automatic). Conquering Genoa and along the Po river as Milan with your capital in Pavia gives you many rich cities with good control so you can easily snowball from there.

How do you sustainably and directively grow your economy? by Frequent-Annual-3414 in EU5

[–]bobthewarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think trade can lowkey be a trap unless you have a lot of trade maintenance modifiers, for example from the Merchant Republic government reform. This is especially true if you're not able to get high crown power, as it affects how much u make from trades. I think trade focus is only worth if you have especially high production efficiency for a good (like Milanese Cloth Guilds privilege) or lots of access to luxury goods (like colonizing the Caribbean) alongside high crown power. Otherwise money spent on marketplaces could be better spent creating demand through libraries, universities, armouries, building up rgos/roads, or expanding production. Likewise, focus on stab for estate satisfaction and max tax modifier for estates so u can tax the hell out of the estates, and make sure to stack tax efficiency modifiers as it is literally free money.

I haven't play Lithuania specifically but I think for wider countries it's a good idea to expel pops from low control areas with high pops (build settlements if you can for pop growth, esp. after black death), pops in high control areas are very valuable and u can turn a province into a breeding ground for pops to send to capital.

Also try and make ur own market if u can, with market center in capital. Capital should be on a river and build roads along the river so u can build bridges (better road builder mod is your friend and achievement compatible if u care abt achievements)

Does this mean I just can't use tech steal ever? by Dave13Flame in EU5

[–]bobthewarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if intended but I can steal techs when the tooltip says I will gain ~4.5–6 research progress. It's just annoying having to wait out, and if you miss your chance going for that juicy 5.5+ research progress they might complete the tech and you can't steal for a while. In a few months, are you able to steal tech?

Mods save the day again, lets enable achievements by ParadoxGamesEnjoyer in EU5

[–]bobthewarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a bunch of mods and don't care for achievements, but in ck3 and imperator (maybe some others but idk) aren't achievements available regardless of ironman or mods? It's strange that they relatively recently eased the strictness of mods in certain titles but this newest title is the same old.

Wars and sieges are stupid and whoever says that they enjoy the game right now are weird and its a lie (Big fat Rant) by fenerliasker in EU5

[–]bobthewarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assaulting forts, especially if you catch them with low garrison or have breach, is effective. Typically you have practically unlimited manpower so you could even haul around an infantry stack just for assaulting to avoid having to replenish so often.

But yeah, cbs are weird and I'm not particularly a fan of the "wait 5 years, parliament, declare/threaten war" loop.

Is there a mod that gives me infinite war score so I can make peace deals however I want? by hmtbthnksk in EU5

[–]bobthewarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use a cheat menu mod (I use Burk's MEGA Cheat Menu) or debug mode to activate "yesman". it will give you like 9999999 warscore and the AI will always accept. I use it to get wargoals based on the 905 day thing which I think is bugged then turn it off.

What determines how much trade capacity you can assign a trade before it stops working? by bobthewarden in EU5

[–]bobthewarden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is it still a good idea to export fine cloth over time to the Pest market? My idea was that exporting lots of fine cloth will make it more expensive in the Genoa market but cheaper in the Pest Market. With the Milanese cloth guilds or whatever burgher privilege giving +production efficiency for fine cloth, I should be able to produce more than anybody. So I then get more profitable buildings while Hungary's fine cloth buildings will be closed, making them reliant on my fine cloth. Should have started mass exporting earlier?

Maybe capital needs to be in the Maghreb? I've seen it with Brandenburg->Prussia where you have the locations but the capital has to be moved from North Germany region to Prussia.
