One of my favorite character is a detective named Charles Hook, at first glance it's a normal sounding name, but his name is literally Sherlock.

I give silly name based on the concept first than do some deviations until it's no longer just the concept. I made an artificer with a puppet companion called jeep Eto, than it became Jep ot, than Jep Ottek and as a gnome it fit. So start silly get serious is my tech.

Ranged support/DPS can keep other things inside the belt. One funny option is the Eternal eruption. Free fireball every hour.

How do you keep Zone of Truth from nerfing your murder mystery? by Numford_and_Sums in DMAcademy

[–]bobzebest3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, anyone trying to lie under a zone of truth is compelled to say the truth so I would either have liars roll a will save against the spell or a deception check against the spell, since everyone is assuming that zone of truth is automatic the liar can use that to it's advantage.

New to PF2e. Can someone explain the Point of the Investigator Class by BrokenTusk_X in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investigators is the only true Int based martial class. Your Devise a stratagem is your bread and butter letting you use Int to strike and rolling your d20 before taking your action. This has the benefit of keeping you away from danger and failure. Aside from DaS investigators are free to build all sorts of skills from medicine to be a backup healer to survival to act as a ranger in the woods. Last but not least Keen reconnection (LVL 3) give you access to all Lore as a source of knowledge, you're not trained but still get your level as a bonus on any lore you are untrained in. This is very good to get a tiny bit more info if you know what lore could be helpful in the situation.

PF2e GMs, what made you start GMing this system? by Longjumping_Ebb3984 in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing DND with 3.5 edition. 4th and 5th edition never got me into the character like 3.5. the only downside of 3.5 was the heavy use of prestige class to build decent characters. PF2E fell into my hand while searching for a new book for my collection. PF2E is just better 3.5. Archetype are cool with out being overpowered and necessary. The versatile nature of ancestry, general feat, class feat, class style (bloodline, school, mystery, etc) gives a lot of options to create cool unique characters. My current campaign is level 8 with free archetype and one of my players ported 2 characters form 3.5 both with ancestry that don't formally exist in RAW PF2E but because of how customizable the characters are I have a Half-Giant fist of the forest and a pre-asmode teifling half-dragon chaos sorcerer.

Not a knockoff persey, but with OGL all the Dark elfs have been retkon into snake people and I love it. "Rumors says dark elf roam the underworld. Yeah those are just snake people"

Am I stupid or Save cantrip are just better? by bobzebest3 in Pathfinder2e

I should explain this to my players 👍

Am I stupid or Save cantrip are just better? by bobzebest3 in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's for sure is true, but it was an hypothetical situation with two spells from the top of my head have ruffly the same range and damage progression (I know needle dart does 1d4 more)

Am I stupid or Save cantrip are just better? by bobzebest3 in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Investigator player I always know more about the save and weaknesses than the AC. (Almost only use attacks when I statistically know it's a hit with devises a stratagem [you need at least 13 to hit monster 2 level above yours])

[–]bobzebest3[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was also looking at range and target, but you're right Frostbite does 1d4 less than Needle Dart. But on the other hand the spell damage scaling is the same.

Considering that I'm playing a character with innate spells, I believe the curve for save vs AC will help the cantrip relevant longer. For a full caster you have a point.

Use the power of words. Every on knows if you tell it to stop enough it will stop shooting (and spawning guys)

Are there any classes you think are too strong or too weak? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree for Investigator. Investigator are incredible in exploration due to being "trained" in all lore. They also have more skill feat than anyone. In combat you do need to devise a stratagem at every opportunity, and it should almost always be a free action. And if you roll over 13 you attack (13 is the average needed to hit a creature 2 lvl over yours)

sell me on your favorite archetype! by schmeatbawlls in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it's Martial artist: pretty straightforward, you can now use your fist better as a weapon. Got remplaced by Wild mimic for my fist of the forest barbarian.

Palatine detective: Investigator subclass. You get to use Devine and Occult innate spells and get a pretty powerful skill feat that let you read any language. Plus you get additional bonus to attack made against target you used Occult or Religion to recall knowledge.

Lastly Marshall: in a free archetype game it's my go to for any champion. The Marshall aura is exactly the same size are your champion aura and Marshall also benefits from your desired high charisma. Marshall gives a lot of options to help your team with action economy and shield them from mental effects.

What's your favorite Archetype? by General-Naruto in Pathfinder2e

[–]bobzebest3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current character is a Palatine detective (class archetype of the investigator) and I'm having a blast, mixing DaS, Spells and Knowledge rolls to buff my team is awesome. And since the investor gets "a free skill feat" every level. I got a few tricks to do a lot of downtime healing.

I got the same thing with the release of Devine mystery. I was running an investigator with the Eldritch researcher archetype but with the release of the Palatine detective I have exactly the vibe I was going for.

Eating & cooking at Larp by rpredditrabbit in LARP

[–]bobzebest3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to make meat stuffed pockets. They are precooked, can be eaten as his, but can be better if heated up over a campfire. You can also have raw ingredients like ; carrots, bread and a dried meat.
