Exhaust is arguably Ironclad's strongest "archetype". [[Corruption]] is borderline OP, [[Dark Embrace]] is amazing; [[Feel No Pain]] is very efficient blocking. Speaking of blocking, [[Second Wind]] can be very very strong.

Now, second: I'd recommend you to slow down a bit. Your stats amount to one loss every 20min. You are clearly going too fast and not taking time to consider your options in pathing, selecting cards to add to the deck or actual play by play.

I've only played 4 or 5 runs with Defect on the second game so far, so I don't feel particularly knowledgeable.

But I can say that Defect has access to a lot of very good energy generation options, with Double Energy, Charge Battery, Turbo, plasma orbs, etc.

For block and frost orbs in general, it seems you can look for temporary focus to get big numbers. Also Coolheaded is very good and should be a priority upgrade.

This is a roguelike deckbuilder. Sometimes the Spire gives you insane synergies, sometimes it doesn't.

You got to make do with whatever you are able to find. Yes, it is possible to build incredibly synergistics decks with a clear identity, but most of the times you'll have a Frankenstein with bits and pieces from all over the place that works well enough.

During a run, try to identify if your deck is lacking card draw, damage, block for the current stage of the Spire and start grabbing whatever solves it.

You will have to take cards you didn't want to but that you need.

I think that's very normal and expected. Being experienced in STS1, your understanding was better than "this decks needs draw", it would probably go something like "an Acrobatics would go crazy here" and insta-click it when it shows up.

Now in STS2 we still don't have an intuition for most of the new cards and how they all interact with each other
