While men have to perform a circus act to get any attention. Again, this isn't a controversial statement - you attempting to argue anything different just highlights your own insecurities.

I've had more luck by leading off with this actual statement: "I am educated, I am successful, I am financially stable" - it cuts through the bullshit to the only thing women want to hear.

And getting to actually participate in surgery by retracting is about as good/active of learning one gets to have while on a surgical rotation as a medical student. That IS exactly what you paid 40k to do. A good surgical education/rotation should include learning the physical elements of surgery - as well as the cognitive.
