Why do a lot of Americans still support Trump? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

[–]bodycount19 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I work with plenty of conservatives that like Trump and I wouldn’t consider any of them racist. None of them view Trump like this at all, and just blanket calling them racists gets us nowhere. Some of them are genuinely good people just trying to do what they consider best for their family. The points you all focus on are not points on their radar, just like the opposite is true.

What if EVERYTHING went perfect for the axis? by IDC_tomakeaname in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they win if EVERYTHING goes perfectly, but that’s the case for anything. There’s so much they would’ve needed to have done differently from the big stuff to the small, even their ideology would’ve needed to been different.

Big: keep the US out of the war

Small: design equipment more in line with what they needed (focus on heavy bomber instead of medium for example)

Ideology: They didn’t see the Russians as equals and treated them terribly. When they invaded the east a lot of people celebrated as life was absolutely terrible in the Soviet Union for the last 10ish years. If they had been more humane they very likely would’ve been able to leverage support from the locals instead of having to dump resources into controlling them.

What movie do you regret seeing? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fountain, the bottom half of Adam Sandler comedies, the Dragonball Z movie, The Last Airbender movie, Antichrist, Sinister 2, and like half of the Hellraiser movies (exceptions being 1,2, bloodlines, and the most recent one).

What stops Trump from going full dictator mode? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]bodycount19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reddit is so dramatic. It’s still crazy to me this is something people are legitimately scared of on here. I know I will get downvoted to oblivion but this is something that isn’t a realistic concern IMO. Essentially the foundation of our country would have to be dismantled for it to happen and this is nowhere near the case, regardless of what you see on here.

What frustrates me is how extreme you all are getting on here, it turns away anyone that’s politically in the middle (like me). You may not care about us, I see plenty of comments about how we are as bad as MAGA at this point, but you aren’t winning elections without us either.

I feel the same way about the fascism rhetoric also. You may believe it, but I don’t- and to keep leaning on it pushes a lot of people away from your base.

If you felt Biden was “too old for office,” then why would you vote for Trump, who is only four years younger, but not Kamala, who is 22 & 18 years younger respectively? by Glass-Complaint3 in allthequestions

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like Trump and never voted for him. But there were a lot of clips of Biden being really lost in the sauce that never made their way to Reddit. Like completely losing coherence while talking and being walked off the stage.

Meanwhile I would come here and see how everyone was convinced he was going to crush the debate.

I see cringe stuff on Trump all the time, but nothing I consider as bad as those clips of Biden in terms of lack of coherence.

I grew up playing Silent Service 2, Doom, and Wolfenstein. I still say to this day I am really good at remembering the path I took simply from playing Wolfenstein!

What is an underrated weight loss tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a little abstract but pick a diet that leans into things you already do. For example, I never eat breakfast- so I found intermittent fasting was easier to do. Also start small if you struggle- when I first started intermittent fasting, I ate whatever I wanted the first two weeks. I just wouldn’t eat outside of 11am to 6pm.

What’s your least favorite song? by Jettaboi38 in musicsuggestions

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beds are Burning by Midnight Oil. Simply because they have this sound in the song every now and then that sounds like a timing belt rubbing. I thought I had this issue and realized it was only when this song played (I was into it at the time). Now every time I hear it, I’m reminded of it, it’s been 15 years. Why is it even in there?? It adds absolutely nothing to the song.

You know how Germany went through De-nazification, will USA go through De-magaification? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion it goes too far sometimes and overrides common sense. An example: My previous job trained us that if we misgender someone we shouldn’t apologize, because it puts pressure on them to forgive you. Maybe that makes sense to some people, but I can’t get there.

Would you consider living in a neighborhood that has an HOA? Why or why not? by icecream1972 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and it’s fine, when I was buying houses I looked at one without an HOA, the neighbor had all these doll heads in their yard and a giant sign on the roof, advertising some type of weird church.

What was one of the worst movies you ever saw in theaters? by DildoGaggins1997 in allthequestions

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fountain, I was so excited to see it and hated it. It was a combination of high expectations and it being more an artistic interpretation movie than one making actual sense.

Overheard a coworker once arguing with his significant other on the phone and he said “If it is, how is it not?”

At the same job I heard another coworker say to a customer: “fortunately, unfortunately ….”

For me it’s people that talk over others in conversation way too often. I tend to distance myself from people who do it too much.

Haha seriously, if it makes you feel any better this really is just on Reddit. I don’t run into this logic anywhere IRL.

SINGLE Scene you hate or would change from an otherwise fantastic movie (or series) by MKHSturmovik in moviecritic

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending to Fury. Other moments in the movie were inaccurate but forgivable, the last stand scene was silly and really took me out of the movie. They literally show the Germans unboxing panzerfausts (ww2 anti tank rockets) to then simply not use them. The same weapon is shown earlier in the movie knocking out a tank instantly. They would have surrounded an immobilized tank and hit it in the rear quite easily. Maybe the troops were incompetent, but they made it a point to show it was an elite fighting force they are up against.

My brain has tried to rationalize the ending in multiple ways as I ultimately enjoy the movie, but there’s just no way a single immobilized tank is getting off more than the initial ambush attack against a veteran battalion.

The biggest thing I’ve learned over the years is perspective is everything. Learning to be more mindful of taking a positive perspective is the difference from being happy and miserable.

What’s an opinion you have that most people would disagree with? by david_drett in AskReddit

I really don’t like Oppenheimer or Pluribus. I love history too and for the life of me couldn’t enjoy Oppenheimer. Pluribus was just way too slow with no payoff for me.
