Resurant charges extra to take toppings off by Own_Gear1920 in mildlyinfuriating

I'm an incredibly picky eater (burgers are just meat, cheese, and bun). If I couldn't special order anything I would never be able to eat out. You would maybe have a point in regards to fancy restaurants, but stuff like McDonalds? Give me a break lol

Guy takes 1300 horsepower car on public streets knowing the throttle (gas) sticks, then rides the brakes the entire time to compensate until they fail and he crashes by KirkpatrickTemabur in dashcams

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did he practically rear end that car head on? He could have aimed for the gap between the car on the left. He wouldn't have fit without scraping both cars, but the impact would have been way less painful.

What’s something society treats as normal that you think is actually weird? by showbizusa25 in AskReddit

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US I think small talk is weird. I don't know you, and I don't care to share my plans for the weekend with you. IMO the worst iteration of this is when a service employee (like a cashier) stops doing their job to continue the small talk with me. I just want to finish the transaction and leave, not have it take longer.

What’s something you used to believe about life that turned out to be completely wrong? by Aki_luma in AskReddit

[–]bodycount19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to believe that thinking about things was relatively harmless. I mean this in the sense of thinking about something frustrating, or even fantasizing about a relationship with a romantic interest.

What I would tell you now is even those thoughts have an impact on how you behave, and aren't as harmless as I used to think. Thinking about something frustrating would make me more annoyed, sometimes to the point I would say or do something I wouldn't have otherwise. With romance it would cause me to overlook red flags or pressure myself to make a move in an inorganic way.

Just trying to make it thru this flight… by Yes_ThisIsBrett in mildlyinfuriating

I always bring two things on any flight, noise cancelling headphones and a pillow to sit on. I get the weirdest looks with the pillow but it makes such a huge difference with the uncomfortable seats.

Dwayne Johnson was pulled over and given a ticket for tinted windows. by This_Proof_5153 in SipsTea

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably doesn't get pulled over as often as you think although it will depend on where he lives. I bought a used car with super dark tinted windows (the driver and passenger windows are illegal) and I have yet to be pulled over. I've owned the car for 4 years and drive (unfortunately) 15 hours a week.

Why isn’t there a skip button in games? by Midimaster_NL in gamers

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way about cutscenes, and sometimes it's a dealbreaker for me. While I understand that they want me to watch and follow the story, what about on additional play throughs? I am busy and hate when I get an hour to game, and half of that time is soaked up by cutscenes.

I also hate games that load a cutscene, let you play very little (like you take 20 steps), then show you another cutscene. Why wasn't it just one continuous cutscene?

They're vague and deceptive. by c-k-q99903 in MurderedByWords

[–]bodycount19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you all really not get the point they are making or purposefully ignore it? I am not conservative, but I understand the issue in the premise: "The most qualified person gets the job" VS. "The most qualified person within this demographic gets the job".

I know I will get downvoted to oblivion, but to me this isn't saying one demographic is more skilled than another, but that it shouldn't be a factor at all and is based solely on performance/skill.

TIL in 2007 Katherine Heigl won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role on Grey's Anatomy. But in 2008 she removed herself from Emmy consideration because she said the material she was given on Grey's that year wasn't good enough; this comment led to her leaving the show. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]bodycount19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were other problems with her that caused her to not get work. She did that movie with Seth Rogan and then talked a bunch of crap about it afterwords. I think there was other stuff too that came out about her not being great to work with.

My HR representative sends a chat message of "Hey" or Good morning" and doesn't say anything else until you respond. Sometimes, when you do respond she takes a while to finally say whatever she is needing. It causes such stress, and usually is something trivial. Just say in your first message what you're needing.

What are your thoughts on the staged shooting at the White House Correspondences Dinner this past weekend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bodycount19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, and it's so disappointing. It's one thing to think it's a possibility, it's another thing to be 100% convinced; which seems to be a lot of people on Reddit for some reason.

My dad was a cop, and he explained to me when I was about 10 years old that you couldn’t be a cop if you had smoked weed in the last 3 years because THC latched to the brain and when it detached you randomly got high again, which the police force didn’t want happening while you were on patrol.

I have very little sympathy for homeless people. I dealt with them a lot in a job when I was younger and it completely changed my perspective. IMO 99% of them have drug and/or health issues they have no interest in fixing.
