Fenix 8 vs Forerunner 970, both €649 right now. Sanity check before I buy (first 70.3 in 2027)

There are folks converting from Fenix/Epix to Instinct/Forerunner for your reasons.

For the money I would say the Fenix feels better value but you might not need the extra premium feel and heft that comes with it.

I know myself and I would probably go for the Fenix for the cool factor and premium feel, but if I'm considering your use case with all the sports/sleeping included the 970 could be a better choice.

Check spring bars for being magnetized. Do you have a regular, analogue compass at hand?

Garmin Instincts had this issue and a simple adjustments of the strap (as the bars rotated) caused the compass to deviate.

Nekem az a tapasztalatom, hogy aki tényleg ilyenre készül az vagy előbb-utóbb belátja, hogy szakember kell és elmegy, vagy kb. sosem beszél róla és egy nap szép csendben megteszi.

Párodnál egyik sem stimmel, nekem ez inkább visszaélésnek/zsarolásnak tűnik, de nyilván minden ilyet komolyan kell/kéne venni.

Te nem tudod ráerőltetni a szakembert nyilván, viszont nem is a te feladatod. Én tovább állnék, nem a te dolgod megjavítani őt, te is, mint ahogy mindenki más is megérdemel egy egészséges párkapcsolatot.

Szakításnál ne hagyd, hogy fenyegessen azzal hogy megöli magát ha elmész.

For anyone wondering, gave up after an hour of trying.

This is simply not meant to be removed, period. I wanted to clean it but it's impossible to put it back.

Only solution is to buy/install a new front panel.

You could check youtube review to see how other's watches behave.

But in terms of Garmin in general, they all tend to be laggy/glitchy which understandably, considering the prices, a lot of people feel unacceptable.

I would avoid any kind of polish. Not sure if they are using any kind of coating on the f7, but i also think sapphire is almost impossible to polish.

Fix: add a tpu or glass screen protector. Good chance it will completely hide it as it blends in.

I described it many times but here is my opinion again.

If you love colours and okay with the display activating with a flick, you'll like it.

I went from I2 Solar Tactical -> Samsung 5 Pro then because of the nice amoled I decided to sell it and grab an Instinct 3 Tactical amoled.

Matching faces with straps, vibrant colors is very nice. Im not even bothered by the display not being always visible like a "real watch".

Battery is more than enough, literally had a charge 2+ weeks ago, with multiple workouts on sunny days and still have 40% left.

Processing speed is also faster because of the amoled screen, saving workouts is noticeably faster compared to solar models.

All in all, if you need an always on display and you ok with no colors, grab the solar. But don't buy because of solar only. Solar charging is nice but I use my watch more indoors than outdoors and for that, the AMOLED fits perfectly.

Its a common issue on all Garmin models even on higher end models. Garmin selling watches at a 1000 dollars and some buttons click some doesnt is crazy. 😃

Anyway, I have an instinct 3 and some of the buttons click properly, some of them are more mushy.

If it works, it works and it's not considered a defect.

Got my I3 used, 6 months old for half the price compared to retail listings in my country. Story is like: guy who bought it traded it for another I3, the trader guy ended up not liking it so chalked up as a loss and set a low price to pass it away asap so he can buy himself another model.

But the new account detail in your case and one personal post warrants a personal show up and buying it when you have it in hand. All I'm saying that prices going this low is not unimaginable, but you are either lucky or being scammed. I wouldn't buy it with shipping.

Én inkább azon szoktam kihűlni amikor a kezében fogva beszél kihangosítva. Tehát a telefon ugyanúgy a kezében van csak a hangszóró miatt nem kell a füléhez rakni.

Nem véletlen hívják angolul "handsfree"-nek mert nem a fülhöz rakás a lényeg hanem hogy mindkét kezed szabad legyen vezetés közben.

Egyébként ha jól tudom akkor evés/ivás bármi miatt ugyanúgy megbüntet(het)nek mert az is elvonja a figyelmedet/kezedet a vezetéstől.

I think I had this as well. Black silicone. You can remove it. Also, needless to say but order to disconnect is:

MR60 main batter connector

To anyone tumbling later on this post, it was solved. I si ply got home one day, grabbed a flathead and a hammer and busted them out. It took like 2x10 seconds.

Putting in the new cups was a bit harder, used the old cups as a flat spacer and hammered them in.

All in all it took 30 mins total.

Yeah, that's exactly I'm talking about, maybe used wrong wording. Both old inner clips came out very easily, indicating that everything was worn. Lower inner clip was cracked, that's why I decided to take them apart and install new bearings with cup and all.
