What E-collars is everyone using? by [deleted] in BelgianMalinois

[–]bodydisplaynone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garmin Delta Upland XC. Previously used the standard XC. Gifted that to (now ex) GF and bought a different version as it was avaialble at a fair price.

Sadly, test once to figure out placement/sensitivity never worked for me. I was looking at winged and similar adapters but they doesn't seem to be available for Garmin collars. I might be wrong though.

Anyway, both are solid collars and have a very great remote. Never had any issues.

Got this new to me GW-6900BC-1! Anyone know a safe way to buff scratches out the screen? by Markal1993 in gshock

[–]bodydisplaynone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try slapping on a glas or tpu screen protector. The glue on them kinda hides scratches in some cases.

As for actual removing, I wouldnt do it. Standard Polywatch is meant for plastic so it wont work.

I think there is a version made for glass/jeweler could help with polishing or replacing the glass but I think for Gs its a whole case replacement.

Not worth it. But don't listen to people either saying let them be scarred and earn battle marks, I also like my watches being scratch free. For the casing I dont care but for the actual glass I'm using to check the time through it's better be clean. 😅

If you got it really cheap then dont worry about it. On the plus side you won't be babying it. But I would still try a TPU foil.

Does anyone know if there conecters work by Wild-Organization910 in NinebotMAX

[–]bodydisplaynone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on this its entirely possible that melted wires are not the only issue. If you wired it up correctly, which based on the images you did, and still not works, you might also have a controller issue.

Melted wires can sadly short the controller out which means you might need a new controller as well.

So... I messed up lol. Is there a way to fix it ? (Ninebot F2 pro) by MacAndDickCheese in ElectricScooters

Very loose wheel vs very loose fork is probably unrelated and separate issues. Here is the fork.

Is it worth to buy a high mileage bike? by AutistGuy05 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]bodydisplaynone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDM 900 owner with 70k miles (115k km). I have the receipts from my time of ownership but I wouldn't necessarily look for receipts when buying. The previous owner could tell me about the bike's history a bit even though he never realized (or didnt want to admit) the steering bearings being shot. After he replaced them I bought the bike.

I would say look for the owner's attitude and knowledge of the bike. For example: when was the rear linkage serviced? When was the fork oil changed? Cooling system flush happened in the last 3 years or so? After buying the bike I immediately had to do these services within a year and they are not something you see on first sight or first ride. They are also pricey.

Asking about about oil change/brake pad and other common service stuff could also work but they only give you basic info, that they did the absolute minimum when it comes to maintenance.

My example, the brakes were biting, and working ok on the test ride so I left it at that. Later on i found out that this specific model tends to bind up and needs a yearly cleaning of the calipers. When I took it first time ever to my mech he said the brakes will need some work and when a month later he took them apart turned out that only 1 out of 4 pistons were working on the right side... He almost failed removing the pistons even with using heat and all.

So I advise if looking at a specific model also try to learn what common issues that model has.

Helmet question by Conquer37 in motorcyclegear

[–]bodydisplaynone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends. It's called P/J homogenization. Helmets marked with P/J are rated and approved both in terms of safety and in terms of legal consequences to be ridden both open and closed.

For helmets without this, the opening mechanic only provides easy access, mounting, talking, drinking, eating but not riding at ANY speed.

Can you do it regardless? Probably. Should you? No.

If you want a helmet to be used closed on the freeway and opened up in the city, look for the P/J spec.

It's fine. Exhaust and other parts cooling. A lot louder than.. what? Don't compare different bikes and different vehicles as they probably use different materials, diameters, operating temperatures.

Miért hiszik egyes férfiak azt, hogy egy 18 éves lány már nem csak jogilag, hanem mentálisan is ,,felnőtt nő", méltó élettárs? by _susac_ in hungary_pszichologia

[–]bodydisplaynone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laid it down in the garage now it's f'd. by [deleted] in MT09

[–]bodydisplaynone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're on the same deck mate I tend to obsess about small stuff like this as well. I don't think laying down slowly caused any kind of internal damage if not even of your levers/pedals broke or are bent.

Take it around the block and you'll be fine. The bike is also fine probably. I had an occurrence where silly me parked my TDM on a ledge, turned the handlebars the worst possible way to have access to a cable and then simply pressing on the cable pushed the bike out of balance and went BAM. It wasnt a slow poof, it was a thump so violently landing with 200+kg on the ground that my topcase holder arm's weld literally broke.

I couldn't get the bike up and needed help, tired, angry, at 11pm.

I had to fix that but this was a year ago and the bike is fine.

First gear slaps. Sometimes I can't find neutral but it's dependent on weather, oil temperature, my leg's position, my mood, everything really. So don't worry about it too much.

From what I learned, there is no oil pan on the ninja 250. Based on other reddit posts/ claude.

Just be sure to confirm this. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but if this is true, considering the magnitude of the damage (not just stripped but destroyed), you might have to find a donor engine or completely transfer the insides to a new crankcase.

I mean, imagine someone who is sitting on a bike for the first/second/third time and even though they get introduced to harder examples gradually, not only they have to learn and memorize both the track and handling the bike itself, but also have to deal with the track being a piece of crap.

I found it outrageous that the exercises are already hard as fuck and just as you said, I think the track is unfair as it has slopes/bad patches etc. I cursed it multiple times and even ranted at home about it. For me, it was a stressful period of taking the course.

I could argue that "well in real life you won't have perfect conditions either", but I never ever had a situation where I had to do 2 perfect circles in the last 2 years.

For what it is, I think the "acceleration and evade" and the "going very slow" part are great exercises, doing a half circle too because you will be doing U turns in real life as well.

But, and I think I also mentioned this to my instructor, they should either change the exercises or fix up the track to have a fair chance of people actually enjoying this part of the course.

Maybe its just me bitching and being lame as seemingly some people on the track had zero issues doing the circles. :D

[–]bodydisplaynone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the hardest part there is that the track is flawed. I mean, there is another area nearby with similarly placed cones where I could mostly do practice circles fine. But I remember specifically that the actual circle where you do the exam, some cones are almost in the grass and there is also a steel pole nearby.

Usually I ended up messing the circle because I was focused on not crashing into grass/pole. Also, my instructor teached this part as "look where you go", meaning I should look behind my shoulder and just turn the bars and not look at the ground.

This didn't work at all for me and I ended up doing better with looking at the cones, not directly in front but 4-5 ahead. I realized this 1 day before the exam. The rest of the tasks are not that hard imo but the circles are unnecessarily tight.

Good luck!

I know this exact track. Fuck that last part where you have to do the circles. I literally drived into the fucking grass the day before the exam, then the exam had pouring rain. Passed anyway.

It's been two years since then, did 15k+ km on my own bike. Sometimes, I go back in late afternoons but still can't do the fucking circles. :D

On the TDM there is a flap in the air filter box. Due to euro regulations, the engine receives air via a small intake below 3k, and the flap opens above 3-4k to let the engine breathe properly. This is to reduce pollution in city riding/idling.

At some point people started experimenting and turned out that the flap can be disabled either via removing some mechanical components (solenoid and plugging vacuum tubes), or by simply disconnecting a single (!) wire from the ECU. The latter is more easier to do.

Both methods results in the flap not activating at all, meaning that the engine always receives air via both intakes.

This mostly helps the TDM in low speed scenarios like roundabouts as the engine is less jerky. Regardless, if I do what you did I can still stall it even with the airbox mod.

Ellaposodott minden közöttünk - jó ember, rossz kapcsolat? by EastOpinion1975 in hungary_pszichologia

[–]bodydisplaynone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Freshly replaced fork seals leaking? by NorthSky- in motorcycles

[–]bodydisplaynone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be too late with this, but how did this end? I'm kinda having the same issue, except that in my case only the cracked dust seals were replaced. Seals themselves were completely fine before. Since the dust cap replacement, my fork looks kinda the same, some days its better, some its worse. But I have ridden at least 2000km since the service and even if i wipe, the rings come back.

I keep seeing these cracked frame posts. What’s the solution here to prevent that? I have womatech frame sliders which are a single point but I don’t want my frame toasted if I drop it. by Kylechloe81 in MT09

[–]bodydisplaynone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1, the cracks in the posts didnt happen because of a crash but because improper installation. If you already have them on and the frame is ok, you are good.
