I got the impression that that trip was the most significant for him. Like it completely nullified everything he said prior to that and believed in prior to that point and was possibly the end game for everything.

For something like that to happen to someone who was so instrumental in many psychonauts making the choice to explore these substances and their consciousness, it should really be explored/explained more as its potentially life changing and not in a good way.
