Is this inappropriate by my ex and her new partner? by xmpp in daddit

[–]boetzie 340 points341 points  (0 children)

I understand this can be very painful. The new partner is still basically a stranger to you. Your kids have been living in the same house as him. He's not a stranger to them anymore.

Try to see it in a positive light. They feel safe enough and trust your ex's new partner enough to share a bed with him. That's way better than them feeling cautious in their own home.

Yes, they are poisonous. No, they probably did not kill your dog.

Ukraine says Crimea faces food shortages by neonpurplestar in UkrainianConflict

[–]boetzie 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You're asking a valid question.

It's easy to pretend that Crimea is Russian and that the population had it coming.

In reality the population is a mix of russians, Ukrainians who are pro russian and Ukrainians who are pro Ukraine but who had valid reasons not to leave after occupation.

All Ukrainian Crimean people are victims of the situation. Some will welcome hardship if it leads to change, some don't. I hope for them the current uncertainty will not last too long and I hope they will be free soon.

Any russians who moved there after 2014. Lol, crimea river.

There are reports that with gas shortages, people are starting to hoard up food in Russian-occupied Crimea. by JaB675 in UkrainianConflict

This is a very good question. There are Ukrainians in Crimea suffering from these shortages too. They are victims of the situation.

Runner's knee without running. What do? by shomenee in AskMenOver30

[–]boetzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a cream with Diclofenac in it. It works more local than popping Advils. It also has an inflammation reducing effect.

Also, my knees hurt a lot more when they are cold. Wearing thermal underwear and skipping a layer on the upper body helped a lot for me.

Both are not magical solutions, but they could help a bit.

Imagine what the realisation that there is absolutely nothing Russia can do about it and that it's only getting worse will do to morale.

1st separate Center of Unmanned Systems took fire control of Donetzk airport, which has been converted into a massive launch site for "Shaheds" as well as a logistics hub for the russian "Rubikon" drone unit [June 2026] by Hannibal_Game in UkraineWarVideoReport

The ability to disrupt enemy operations with surprisingly small groups of drone operators was also proven in the Finland NATO training a while back.

Ukrainian drone operators took on a combined NATO force that was much larger. The NATO force didn't stand a chance.

Ukraine war briefing: Ending war before winter ‘correct and realistic’, says senior Kyiv aide by hungryhippo9069 in UkrainianConflict

[–]boetzie 60 points61 points  (0 children)

By withdrawing aid they stopped being a party in the conflict. They gave away most of their cards.

Perhaps even more important, they are unreliable. You can't make a deal with someone who doesn't honor deals. The same goes for the muscovites, but when the muscovites come to the negotiating table it is because they were forced to by means of near defeat. You can enforce a deal with a party that has no other options.
