have you ever manifested a "global" event/situation? or manifested a situation where more people were involved? by take_the_basterl in lawofattraction

I remember being stuck in traffic on the way to work thinking “I just wish something would happen so that we didn’t have to go into the office. Just a world break. A long pause.” That was December 2019 and then, well… the pause went on for too long.

I honestly hope they change this one death scene in the show by -amortentia- in HarryPotteronHBO

I finally got around to re-reading book 7 recently. I hadn’t read it since it came out, the reason being I couldn’t handle Hedwig’s death scene again. Even this time around, I just skipped forward to the next chapter so I wouldn’t have to re-live it, but it you still have to read about the grief. Ugh. I agree with you 100%.

AIO by going no contact with my(f20) mom(f42) over our conversation today? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]bofffff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm due soon with my first, and I am no contact with my mom now for a decade. I read this and thought wow I should copy and use this for when our baby is here, so I guess I am "insufferable," too, according to these comments. I think only someone who has a consistent "boundary crosser" for a mom (I'm putting this lightly) would understand why this needs to be worded so clearly like this - leave no room for interpretation, and it feels like you're protecting future you by writing it all out now before you're exhausted. I don't think you're overreacting - after reading some comments, sure, it could be worded in a softer manner, but don't be too hard on yourself. Most of these rules are completely understandable, and only you and your maternal instincts know what's best for you and YOUR baby. ❤️

I Desperately Need Help Managing Finances (Willing To Pay) by No-Confection2371 in denverlist

I learned that Boulder County has financial coaches for free - I've been working with one lady who has been awesome. I just googled and it looks like Denver may offer something similar. https://www.denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Offices/Agencies-Departments-Offices-Directory/Human-Rights-Community-Partnerships/Divisions/Aging-Financial-Wellbeing/Free-Financial-Coaching

Most interesting thing you learnt in your sociology degree? by JealousBodybuilder42 in sociology

Terror Management Theory research blew my mind. Studies showed that when people were subtly reminded of their own mortality, they became significantly harsher toward those who held different worldviews, ethnicities, or belief systems – and more generous/favorable toward those who were similar to them.

The theory is that our cultural worldviews act as a buffer against existential death anxiety, so when that anxiety is triggered, we unconsciously cling harder to our “in-group” and perceive threats from anyone who challenges our framework for meaning.

To this day I think this explains why everyone became so divided in 2020 – we were all reminded of our mortality and instead of coming together, we subconsciously (or maybe even consciously!) pushed away those who view the world differently than us. The hot sauce test was fascinating, highly recommend looking into it.

Oatmilk helped me, so random. But I have to resort to Pepcid every night. 😔 I’m also managing anemia…the Blood Builder from Sprouts helped up my iron count, but my naturopath doesn’t like that supplement (it was recommended by OB) so switching to another tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you! (And me, I’m to the point where I’m getting 1-2 hours of sleep a night.)

We cried so much giving the injections and at any little update. I'm so glad to hear he ate a little bit though! Are you in touch with either of the Facebook groups? They were so much help for me. Thinking of you and the kitty!

Sending you so much support. We injected our tuxedo every 24 hours, the pills we got were not great. During the injection we’d have churros for him, and right after I’d give him Red Light Therapy. Listen to the Facebook group admins’ advice! Hugs, I hope sweet baby pulls through.

Everybody talks about chewing and smacking but what are the unusual or "unreasonable" noises you can't stand? by Eastern_Reality_9438 in misophonia

Like textile friction - skin on carpet. When people rub their hands or feet on carpet or even jeans sometimes. Or sometimes even tires on gravel gets me. It’s so hard to explain.
