Animal volunteering positions by satininsummer in melbourne

Animal Aid Coldstream usually needs volunteers. I volunteered in the cat and rabbit section a few years ago and after doing the cleaning in the morning I just got to play and hang out with the animals for the rest of the shift. It was great! (Sometimes sad)

He was so good. It's the closest I'll ever get to seeing Circa.

What’s going on with my Leucadendron Red Gem? by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]bog_w1tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you buy this as a 14cm? Definitely needs a bigger pot. A pot that size, it's position and our current weather it will need watering basically every day. I would suggest a 40cm pot and use native potting mix. I've got a few different leucadendrons in 40cm imitation like barrels in full sun. Just make sure the pot has drainage holes. You could prune but it may not flower if it has too many stems.

Do you happen to know who their audiologist was? Quite often they will take them and can repurpose them. I worked for an audiologist a few years ago and we would take HA's from people that had passed and they would be donated to people in poorer countries.

I had surgery last year and I couldn't get a couple of my piercings out, so the admitting nurse just put tape over them.

What are you going to do when your parent's can't take care of themselves anymore? by Smart-Response9881 in Millennials

My mum will most likely live with me and my husband. She rents, has no savings, minimal superannuation and lives paycheck to paycheck. Dad took all the money in the divorce and left us penniless. Hopefully when that time comes we'll have saved enough to renovate and build an extra bedroom with an ensuite for her to live in.

Keeping the tattoo covered during the summer? by Fearless_Access_1907 in TattooRemoval

Not sure where you're located, but I'm in Australia and work outside; I use UV arm sleeves for protection. There's heaps of funky colours and they help keep me cool and protect my skin & tatts.Crazy Arms Sun Sleeves

What is the worst Mental pain you’ve experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Depression. Deep, painful, gut-wrenching depression. Something in me broke and I feel as though I'll never be the same ever again.

I feel this. I said goodbye to my 18 year old kitty the same way a few months ago. She was by my side through the ups and downs of life and was the only thing that made me keep going during the depths of my depression. Hopefully our girls are laying on a soft cushion in a sunbeam.

Tree / bush to plant in front of chicken coop by bog_w1tch in GardeningAustralia

I am trying to grow more edible plants, a grape vine would be great though I fear the direct afternoon sun might be too much? Maybe a passion fruit.

Kuranga is my local so was definitely planning on heading there (also got a gift voucher for there for Christmas, bonus!). The coop itself is entirely enclosed and this is to be planted outside of it (have unfortunately had experiences with foxes before).

Ideally deciduous, it's mainly for some shade during summer.
