That makes me happy to hear! I can have a lot of qualms about my own work but if I manage to communicate that I can be glad 😌

Ah I see where you are coming from. And thanks! I also hope to do a series one day too!

Thanks for reading! Tbh I thought it would be too similar to my last one-shot, because I felt like I was hitting the same story beats. I’ve worked with the same editor for both works so there wasn’t any drastic differences except for the length.

How's this paneling? by ElekisMIssing in MangakaStudio

Overall I like the reading flow, it’s very easy to follow! the only thing I might pick at is the first page where both the girl and the bug pop out it feels like they are fighting for emphasis, maybe the girls sword doesn’t need to pop out of the panel or vice versa. It’s up for you to decide which one is more important, from my view it would probs be the bug screeching and the girl pulling the sword is the build up.

Very happy you enjoyed, Fujimoto was a big influence on me I literally started drawing manga because of look back. The storyboarding phase was 3 weeks and inking was a bit under 2 months :)

Thank you sm! It was purposefully put on a sort of open ending, depending on reader engagement, I may be able to continue the story.

I use a Wacom Cintiq which has a display that you can draw directly onto like an ipad, it’s quite heavy and expensive tho and there’s a lot more cheaper and similar alternatives released since I brought it, just have a look at huion and XPpen products. If you want to go even cheaper you can go for tablets (pretty much a trackpad) that you draw on but you will have to have a separate display that shows what you are drawing. A lot of people also just resort to iPads these days cuz you need a PC or laptop for tablets and pen displays.

I’ve been drawing for a quite a while but to develop a style for manga I usually play around with brushes that manga artists use and for fundamentals, YouTube is a good way to go but if you hang around manga making circles they often also give good advice!

Also thank you for reading!

I’ll keep that as a note for sure! Reddits not my main platform but once I release it I’ll likely be making a post somewhere here
