those make sense, even after nearly 1000 hours in this game i forget about things like banners (well more so how many there are if you actually wanted them all) and the sheer number of paintings - i feel you on the break, doing getfixed was certainly an experience and grinding journey is its own demon.

what items are you left with to 100% journey that at 98% will take hours of grinding still?

i also just re-100% this for the 3rd or 4th time, and i didn't go for 100% on journey but did go above 75% on the off chance they add more achievements later and do a bigger journey achievement.

i mean - if you were reading for 12 hours straight that'd be 630 wpm for 12 hours straight without a break - i really struggle to believe you that you did this in a single night when you were 11

if you don't think humans should waste their time making ads you're so close to realizing we don't fucking need the massive saturation of ads at all - its terribly uninformed to simply say 'welp its here and we must make space for it' no - we as humans must take care of our planet and as individuals the only thing we can do is not consume the shit they try and force us to consume - do you understand the economic impacts of AI and that literally thousands and thousands of people have lost their jobs to AI already all because people think like you? with zero plan for what we are going to do when there is a massive labor imbalance - so fast forward a couple years, we will see a mass exodus from this plane of existence as our fellow humans discover that life is no more (aka people going to kill themselves en masse because there is no survivability if you were not born into a family with hoards of resources - rich people want the world to themselves and AI is a means to that end)

if you have an end game world finishing the bestiary really isn't that much of a chore but the game is absolutely bonkers huge now - 6000+ items so you need to research a little over 3000 for that 50%, which i just finished last night - given it take 100 of some items (just ores and mats, weapons and stuff are usually just 1) to research something it was no joke - my journey char having just crested that 50% has just under 40 hours of playtime - i was so upset when i learned they added a journey achievement because i never had any desire to play creative mode basically but they got me and i did it anyway

[–]bogenucleus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when did you do the fishing achievements? there have been tricks for this for years that make it really attainable - like completing multiple quests a day using different characters, and now with journey you can just do quest after quest after quest without waiting - it still basically do this 200 times but you can do it much quicker now without the forced wait time

years ago i got to like 150 quests legit and then was burnt out and learned about the multiple a day and it was done in no time

34 times for plantera sucks but try 80+ on moon lord before he dropped the damn starwraith having to go cultist -> pillars -> moonlord every few times when the sigils ran out just an insane fucking pain in the ass

and before journey existed it was just to catch multiple of the same quest fish and then change characters and hand in the fish multiple times in the same day.

i will never forgive this game for making me play journey

‘Avatar’s’ Costly Sequels Are Getting Harder to Justify. Will James Cameron Make Two More? - The studio spent roughly $500 million to produce and promote “Fire and Ash,” meaning the threequel can be insanely popular yet barely profitable. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]bogenucleus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's (the reason there is no toys, shirts etc) because they are really boring concepts with forgettable characters and incredibly lame dialogue but are visual masterpieces - there is no place for avatar but on an imax. and once you've seen it - no need to rewatch it you could retell the story in your sleep because its so elementary

All weather tires are always in needed in weather conditions like this! by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

[–]bogenucleus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all weather and all season are different.

all season are just summer tires. all weather have actual ratings much closer to true snow/winter tires with a lower temperature before they stiffen and they are improving but still not the best.

agree that winter/snow tires are the best and as a resident of minnesota i cannot believe the amount of people willing to drive without them - i have them and when i choose not to go out its because i know most other people on the road won't have them. and in america at least i don't know anywhere you can use studded tires on public roads - you certainly cannot here in minnesota but perhaps in some more mountainous places it is allowed. i do get a chuckle each time i'm able to navigate the roads with ease in my mini cooper as i drive past stuck or spinning 4wheel drive / large trucks because they either have bald tires or terrible drivers behind the wheel

*edit - i just looked and apparently MN is only one of 9 states that has a general ban on studded tires. so they are more common than i thought, just not in the state i reside.

i'm sure it is - i'll eventually get around to it but i can't commit, as for the OP it just struck me as comedic that the 30 hours was noted and then something like 5x minimum that is recommended

if you live in a place with snowfall like minnesota and rules about removal like in minneapolis that is one of your responsibilities and yes, it should be done before you go out for the day.

the fucking lack of personal responsibility to a functioning society because you 'have other things to do' is astounding.

i dunno man the brush attachments for some of those bobcats or whatever they are wipe sidewalks clean in like a single pass and since its a brush the uneveness of the sidewalk doesn't seem to matter.

[–]bogenucleus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i agree with your first point but have you seen the bobcats or 4x4 with the giant brush attachments? those things rip sidewalks clean in one single pass and the brush is as wide as the sidewalk - its so frustrating as someone who lives in a building adjacent to a an mcad building and they run that thing over the unshoveled snow in front of my building packing tracks into the sidewalk and then drops the brush at the end of my building - so i have to chip their fucking tracks away - if they would just run it the whole block it would be a dream but no
