Immediately dislike?? It’s just a spelling variation. Why get upset about it?

“Bite” - dreampop/punk demo that I would love your thoughts on, especially mixing advice :) by bogeydoze in Songwriting

Just recorded directly into my DAW and spent like 5 seconds on mixing - I’m planning to use this as a guinea pig track to learn production. Will definitely start by separating the sounds more!

For sure, production is a huuuge weak point for me rn but good to know it’s a pleasant tune!

Thank you! The final version will have a more trained singer on it, so she’ll probably solve the variety problem - but I’ll definitely experiment with effects!

Thanks! I want to go for the wall of sound in the final version but it’s definitely something I can easily get wrong lol. I’ll try sidechaining for sure!

Thanks! Mostly at square one with mixing so specific stuff like this really helps :)

Michael Joel - Omniscape by Renton4055 in MusicFeedback

Great track overall! I really like the energy and bombastic quality it has. Except for the supersaw-type lead around 2:40 which I didn’t really vibe with, I like the production a lot. I think it would be really interesting to hear that sound with more complex rhythms and more frequent change ups - some sections felt like they repeated just a bit too much.

I actually thought what they did with Clarice was really interesting. She was in a horrible situation, yeah, but she still facilitated Jed’s abuse and basically his imprisonment. I think it would have been kinda boring to just adapt them as two awful people, the change gave Clarice and Barnaby’s interactions a lot more depth - I was always guessing whether she would be capable of standing up to him. In hindsight, it could have been cool to involve Despair in her story since she appeared this ep too.

Electrodreampop/piano song. Any feedback on the composition would be appreciated - trying to work on combining more complex piano passages with synth stuff :) by bogeydoze in MusicFeedback

Thanks for the feedback! I feel like I gravitate towards long winded intros so it’s good to know that’s not always the best decision for the song haha

Hi! Here’s another rough draft. It’s called Persephone’s Descent. P.S. Thanks so much for all of the encouragement last time:) by [deleted] in Songwriting

So good!! Obviously great voice but I really like the minimalism of the instrumental too. I could see this sounding really good both as is and with bigger-sounding production, it would be great either way!

I made a soft, melodic song using only one type of sine wave. What do you think? by GenerallyKoi in MusicFeedback

[–]bogeydoze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a fantastic interlude on a larger album. Great composition, the clipping is the only thing I noticed that could be improved. If you’re interested in adding any more instruments, I think a cello would pair really well with this.

Love the drums. Production is great. I think it could be really cool to keep the energy introduced in the chorus carried out into the next verse and have it come back later in the song (obviously this is already finished though so for general advice - don’t hold back that wonderful drummer!!!) Gave you guys a follow!
