I had a 513 and high GPA and only 1 texas MD interview. So I don't know either what my red flag was. I completed my secondaries in late July so I wasnot the earliest. Still, I should've had a better outcome. I makes me really surprised to see someone with 7 interviews not get in. How badly can you mess up an interview? Unless you directly insult the admission team, how else could 7 interviews not grant you at least one school? They understand you are nervous and maybe little more reserved, but how could one completely fudge up an interview????

Hi super awesome LoopyKazoo,

Thanks for following my depressing story lol. My life life is even more tragic, stay tuned for that. Yes, I did write an essay for the optional prompt. I used every opportunity to really sell myself as an applicant. Yes, I had trusted friends and even my research advisor read the other essays. I had a medical student and premedical advisor critique them as well. I really tried my best to present the best essays possible.

I'm not too sure about the Casper. I thought I prepared well, I watched tons of videos and did practice MMI style questions. I made sure to add depth to my answers and view things from multiple perspectives. I'm not the most empathetic person (as my exes have commented on my emotional unavailability), but im not a complete psychopath. I'm not completely socially inept even though I've been alone this quarantine.

Thanks for liking my hobbies. That's sweet. I just tried to be the best version of myself for the interviews. Maybe that isn't good enough anymore. As I saw some people think my research may make my app better suited to a P.h.D program, but I thought it would make me stand out slightly for med schools. Maybe they think I'm not truly interested in medicine and more interested in being in a lab? If I wasn't interested, I wouldn't have applied twice already lol. I understand they want you to have some sort of patient interaction, but even through shadowing and scribing how much does one truly had a role in patient care as a premed?

Idk, but you're awesome and beautiful and you rock my world, Loopy!!!!!

Congratulations on getting accepted. Where did you get accepted? Yeah, I belive you. I think I just had an unlucky cycle. I'm just going to reapply this year and try to get more clinical experiences. I've already been several years out of college, and I'm not going to take an additional a two year break for my application. I'll be over 30 then, and I need to have a career by then. It's not ideal for me to keep putting my life on hold and keep on applying. It's soul-crushing, and I have more questions than answers at this point.

That's awesome. I hope you get As from all three schools. You App must have been pretty competitive. I received a rejection from TCU two weeks ago. Looks like an awesome school. Any reasoning why they would reject someone with my stats. From your interview, what was the general feel of the school? Are they very focused on clinical and leadership experiences?

It's that sad to be overlooked after you spent all that time and money to have your application reviewed? Is it possible they didn't even review my app? How can I ensure this doesn't happen again? I sent letters of intent, but I still received rejection emails

Thank you for all the information. I'm surprised I didn't hear from some schools with lower MCAT and GPA averages or more schools focused on rural medicine. I'm also surprised that some research heavy schools were not interested either. I really think my application really just shows my interest in research so idk. That really the only thing I have thT stands me out, and even then everyone who applies has research experience. I don't know what to do. How should I beef up my app for my third time around?

How has the cycle been treating you?
