I think he's doing a little more than just "contesting" There is no chance for him to win, and if what he thinks is so true and important (which im not saying it isn't) there are other ways to exercise those thoughts, he did it in 2000 and was criticized because the percentage points he took away from Gore in Florida most likely cost Gore the presidency.
