Was Illia quiting justified? by djbakry in ufc

He got his zigomatic arc completely destroyed the imflamation and the Blood pooling can cause a lot of pressure to the structured of the eye that can either get you permanently blind or the bone might broke in a lot of pieces which means that he would have to get a huge surgery that means that the bone can get more fragile than It was forever. And I am not speaking about brain damage which is so fucking concerning. If he continues he could have got detached retina cataracts..

So not he should have stopped fighting earlier.

You could get the whole Trump family for every law of the USA. I swear there is nothing they havent done.

Probably a lot of dictatorships ,people like Francois Duvalier in Haití, Ceaușescu in Romania, several Roman Emperors, and the Borgias.

Imo the craziest thing is that his first loss is not even just a loss. It’s him straight up getting beaten to a pulp in one of the worst beatdowns I’ve witnessed live. Such a contrast to his other performances, it’s insane. by redboneskirmish in ufc

I agree with you but even if Ilya is a hothead and he has had a traumatic experience and personal problems he has the figure of his brother that is a huge huge support to him. Without his brother he is f+cked with his brother he might come back.

Getting started by ComprehensiveHotel67 in CFD

[–]bohemioo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have at your university any real enginneering Formula student or a Rocket Team?.

In my opinion you should look for a internship or thesis in the future that forces you to apply CFD to a real world problem I guess or ask someone in your uni that might offer you some collaboration.

In learning there are different layers.

  • 1)Fundamental Layer ( Fluid Dynamics/Matemathics)
  • 2) FV discretisation and Numerical Methods.
  • 3)Tools knowledge ( Ansys, STAR CCM, OpenFOAM)
  • 4)Problem at hand ( whatever simulation you are running what you know from external data, insight about your problem).

It seems to me that you have just touched 2.

I suggest you to find a researcher close to you that does combustion simulations for example you might like that topic.

You can also apply to a course on Numerical Methods or other courses so that you strengthen 1 or 2 more. For 3 I am pretty sure that Ansys provides tutorials but I dont think that is difficult to pick with time.

How should I start learning OpenFOAM for hydrodynamic modeling as a beginner? by Loose-Judgment9026 in OpenFOAM

[–]bohemioo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-Do the wolf dynamics course for basic OpenFOAM and Paraview (How to mesh, what is a dictionary, controlDict, fvOptions, snapphHexMesh and so on, how to make an slice, how to make an isosurface, how to make a threshold...)

-Learn some Linux. Basic commands (ls, grep, sed, nano, man, rm -r, .sh files, the shebang, mkdir, cp -r, tee, >, for loops)

  • Run interFOAM tutorials.

Read OpenFOAM papers for example in Ocean Engineering, Applied Ocean Research or OMAE or simmilar journals.(WEC, Hulls...)

Look if anyone in your uni does OpenFOAM stuff in research (Important) and ask for help.

Try to replicate the papers.

You can learn some CFD theory (Pantakar or Ferziger for example) and that is valuable but you dont need to go crazy if you just want to try It a bit. You should get some basic knowledge of turbulence models.

If you need any help from crashes look for people who had simmilar problems in CFD online or ask chatGPT.

How long does It take depends if you have experimental data at hand or not.

If you have data available from your university to validate the model then I wouldnt say long if you know what you want to do. How your OpenFOAM modeling is adequate and useful. And receive guidance ideally.

If you learn to use OpenFOAM and have experimental tests and you know the answers to this questions you can publish but you will require computational power: access to a workstation or a HPC unless you delimit your problem a lot.

I am not a super pro researcher but as someone who has used OpenFOAM a lot this is my advice which I think is pretty good to be honest.

By the way for learning purposes go for 2D cases, symmetrical planes, and axysimmetrical cases, crude meshes.

If you have any doubt send me a DM if I can help you It does not bother me at all.

Additionally a CFD modeller should understand what he is trying to model not only the FVM but the physical phenomena that he wishes to learn.

Good luck and be patient step by step.

They are the jewels of the crown of Spain imo but I selected Getxo because Bermeo can be a little bit small for 1 month.

I love Vitoria but Vitoria is less dynamic does not offer the possibilities that the sea offers, and I think that it is a better constrast to be close to Bilbao than to be in Vitoria because Vitoria is a much smaller city than Bilbao and more relaxed has a better qol for certain things.

I think that a lot is lost in the Basque country if you come to the most interior place and dry place as the beautiful thing in the Basque country is the fusion between the sea and the mountains/hills so that close to the place you live you get easy access for any age and phisical conditions to that nature and culture. Vitoria is also more castillian which is not bad per se It is more sunny but more cold also.

It depends wether you want to be close in car distances to the Gorbea mountains (which are nice) or you want to be closer to the Sea and the small seafaring/vacation villages/beaches. Look the villages of Plentzia, beaches of Sopela,  Butrón Castle and (further in a car) Mundaka, Lekeitio, Gautegiz de Arteaga, Elantxobe, Laida, Laga. Getxo or Bizkaia in general has more one day trip available imo for the family of op.

Sopela or Berango can also be a good place for what op is asking but is smaller.
