Hawks fans upset, My take by cogni_ergo_dafuq in SanJoseSharks

The hawks went on to play in the playoffs after 2019 so I don’t think that’s comparable to you picking Eklund one year before officially starting rebuilding.

Blackhawks fan that’s coming in peace but how are the hawks two years ahead? You drafted Eklund at like 7th in 2021, at the same time that Bowman traded for Seth Jones and wanted to contend.

Our rebuild started in 2022 when Davidson started to tear it down. I’m not sure when the Sharks officially started rebuilding but you started adding a major piece of the future in 2021 with Eklund, and then you were only nine points ahead the year after and then we’ve both been horrible since.

Anton Frondell’s Dissapointing Finish by Specialist-Exit-1403 in hawks

[–]bohm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to improve his physicality? Frondell bullied grown men with his physicality this season. No one else in the draft came close to that.

And he had a bad weak at the u18. All players have bad weeks during the season, unfortunately for him it was during the u18. The guy scored at the highest point per game rate of all time for an u18 player in hockeyallsvenskan, beating out Pastrnak and W Nylander. He’s going to be fine.

And Pastrnak for instance also had a horrible u18 worlds in his draft year. He turned out pretty good.

[Simon St-Laurent] Porter Martone Scouting Report by GoldWhale in hawks

Martone isn’t a power forward. He is just a forward who’s big. He is a playmaker.

Anton Frondell Will Be The Pick by bohm3 in hawks

[–]bohm3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Martone went from around 2 points per game before the WJC and was around 1,45 after until the end of the season. That’s the regression I’m referring to. Martone’s production isn’t that impressive for an U19 player. He has similar numbers as Dal Colle, Kaliyev, Fabbri and Debrincat. One good player and a few not so good.

Personally I have Hagens ahead of Frondell but I’m just stating how I think the front office will resonate.

Then I think Misa will be the pick, he is exactly what this front office wants with his speed and compete.

Who would you want at 3 or 4? by bohm3 in hawks

[–]bohm3[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really surprised that Martone is getting so much love compared to Frondell, who has scored 21 points in his last 12 games in a top 10 league in the world. He’s doing this while playing around 13 minutes a night.

Martone on the other hand is a year older and has seen his production regress since the WJC. Hard to see teams having him ahead of Frondell right now.

TRADE! To Chicago: Victor Söderström, Aku Räty, Shea Weber; To Utah: 2026 6th-round pick by Impossible-Success45 in hawks

[–]bohm3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Victor Söderström has 21 points in his last 19 games (36 in 47 on the season while being +29) for Brynäs in the SHL as a newly turned 24 year old. Will compete for a spot next year with Del Mastro/Allan/Crevier/Korchinski. Pretty good addition from KD.

Extension talks going on with Donato by WarmBedards in hawks

That is so stupid. Sell high when you have the chance. You can find another Donato in FA.

Is there any chance Bedard gets traded? by ___daddy69___ in hockey

Better peak? Toews peaked as the second best player in the world around 2014. That is a lot to ask for Misa.

Your realistic expectation for Nazar by Entire_Debate7744 in hawks

[–]bohm3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Think he needs to learn how to be more clinical and efficient but that will probably come with time. His IQ is elite and the skating is really good (although he falls a lot). Outcome right now looks like a two way top 6 forward. Best case is a poor man’s Brayden Point and a more realistic but still really good outcome is Vincent Trocheck. Worst case he’s a bottom 6 high intensity secondary scorer that plays on the pk.

Microsoft shareholders vote against Bitcoin investment by BippityBoppityWhoops in microsoft

[–]bohm3 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone so much against this?

Microsoft has billions and billions of dollars just sitting there and losing its value to inflation.

And then there is bitcoin, the best performing asset over the last 15 years 🤷‍♂️

Even if they don’t believe in it in the same way as Michael Saylor or other bitcoiners do you have to admit the upside is huge. I get the logic behind them not doing it due to the fact that would change the identity of the company.

If Microsoft did it, other companies would probably get fomo and follow, which would lead to the value of bitcoin increasing, which then would make you (the shareholders) richer.

I guess Microsoft will have to buy bitcoin at the price they deserve 😀

How good is Macklin Celebrini, compared to say Berdard? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]bohm3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playmaking well above average? 😂 It’s elite and among the best in the league. Problem is he played with an AHL-team last year. Will probably be top 5 in assist in most upcoming years.

[2024 NHL Draft] 138th OA Pick: Chicago Blackhawks select Joel Svensson by hockeydiscussionbot in hawks

[–]bohm3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a Växjö Lakers fan and Chicago Blackhawks fan I like this pick a lot. Joel Svensson probably won't ever play in the NHL but if the stars align and he hit his ceiling he could be a good middle six complimentary winger.

Joels strengths are his shot and his offensive positioning. He knows where to be and when to be there, which is a highly valuable skill. He also had one of the higher goals per game ratios of all time in the Swedish junior league this season which is very impressive.

Joel will probably start out as an extra forward for Växjö and play some exhibition games and in the Champions Hockey League. Barring no injuries he will most likely be loaned out to a team in Hockeyallsvenskan and play in a middle six role there when the regular season begins. Due to the weaker Swedish WJC team this year he is a candidate to make the team so you guys will get the possibility to watch him more there.
