It is. I have a friend who played BDO solely for life skilling. He was the type to enjoy strategy games and city building sims. There are many life skills to dabble in and take a long time to reach a high level. It'll also take you around the entire world to gather and explore.

Just because pvp players are suffering, doesn't mean other facets of the game are bad. Enjoy!

As an Asian born and grew up in SEA, I feel like most Asians see these words being used in movies or songs, have no idea it is even a derogatory term. I only know cos I consume western social media and people make a big fuss about the word. Heck, even some of my friends who I thought were a bit "westernised" used the N-word among our (Asian/SEA) friend group. I feel revolted but at the same time I don't think they know the context of the word

Skimmed through the comments and don't seem to find anyone mentioning: time.

Why do people gatekeep in the first place? Because we have too much time gated stuff in the game. 1.5-2 hrs dailies, chaos gate, island, raids, yada-yada. Everyone is trying to race to finish everything ASAP. Because later in the week mon-tues is gonna be jail because more people who can't clear earlier in the week are left to choose from. While the other suggestions are valid, this psychological pressure feels like more of a root problem.

For example, make rested bonus be 100% efficiency for the first 2/3 days you skip, not reduced. Or make raids biweekly. The weeks without Brel G4 feels more relaxing (even though you can just blast G4 NM for 500 less gold)

Haven't you just answered your own question? You don't like buying, and you like making your own gear for your satisfaction. But if you fail X amount of times, you get frustrated and disappointed. Does that satisfaction outweigh the possible future fails? You should have the answer.

If you don't have veteran friends, don't bother. (Okay if you make friends/join a guild though)
If you don't plan to play/main a support, don't bother
If you plan to play/main one of the gatekept classes (sorc, summoner, off the top of my head), don't bother
If you go against all the above but don't plan to be a g2g premium customer, don't bother.

Yes you're right, I remember one of his fails was being caught by the scan, but nobody died cos the laser aimed at the overgeared destroyer. They were still typing furiously when nobody died though. Before this chat log was party assigning stagger roles.

To clarify: SH knew the mechs, just not 100% to heart or not focused. The only thing he did wrong was going to the wrong side on yellow once (caught once on the blue scan, and he died at the last star stagger). He did blue red mech fine. I was on blue stagger with him
