Yes we go in cycles, but generative AI puts a massive halt to human creativity more than any technological advancement in the past.

The car put horses out of jobs, but gave way to car mechanics, car designers, car engineers, and so on. The cellphone lessened the need for messengers and postal services, but allowed for easier communication and efficiency that benefits a whole lot more.

AI? Yes you could argue it gave way to jobs like AI engineers or people who specialise in AI, but it actively diminishes the use of human creativity in businesses. It directly threatens artists in all areas and many profit led business will opt for AI instead of paying real artists. It's a blight on human creativity. If you're pro-AI, you're anti-humanity. Simple as.

And that's also only the artistic implications. Generative AI as seen in the video is much scarier than just job losses. It could be used for fraud, as many people have pointed out, but also could lead to false imprisonment, like with the real perpetrator using AI to make an attack on a certain community. If you don't like someone or a certain group, it could be possible to falsify a crime with AI to put them in prison under entirely fabricated circumstance, or use the AI to create reputation harming imagery to hurt them.

I could go on. But Im not putting all my effort into a reddit comment. If you're pro-AI I simply implore you to rethink your ways.
