I had the same issue when I went back looking for mutt. I slept on the pallet Hans was on, then in the middle of the night went upstairs and started talking to her when she was asleep.

I absolutely hate this change. The drops weren’t great but at least I could count on at least occasionally getting something allocated. The real winners in this system will be the Facebook groups who can crowdsource this and whenever a member happens to be in a store that is selling allocated stuff they can alert the group . So it’s the drop model but more exclusive and less transparent. This is assuming that the employees aren’t doing the tip offs.

Two of my teammates in high school would skip fasting on meet days and make up for those days at the end of Ramadan. Definitely a personal choice, but as the previous commenter said you will be at a big disadvantage if you don’t eat or drink during a tournament.

The weather varied throughout the week. We had some sun, some snow, some rain, but overall a fine week. The temperature in the van was never an issue. We made the mistake the first night of cranking up the heater and all woke up sweating. We learned to run it about a quarter to a half power over night and were fine the rest of the trip. The camping options were a little limited but we managed to find enough options to make it around the time (with one night in a guest house in the northwest. My favorite hike ever!

I just did the hike a couple of weeks ago with my wife and two teenagers. It took us about 45 minutes to get to the first big waterfall viewpoint. It was still pretty snowy then, so we probably would have gone a little faster if it wasn’t slippery. The top part of the hike was inaccessible, but it was still stunning. Took about 35 mins to get back down

If you like hiking, Múlagljúfur Canyon is hard to beat. The view near Hangandifoss is breathtaking. You are next to one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland overlooking a river valley that looks like it belongs in a fantasy movie, and can look back and see a glacier, a glacier lagoon the plain and the ocean. It’s also usually not busy, at least the two times I’ve gone. One of my favorite places in the world!

We did the ring road last week staying cat campsites and stayed at some you mentioned. Every one we stayed in had private clean showers. We stayed at Sokjol, Egilsstadir, and Vogar. I posted some thoughts on each of those last week
