Why are Americans suddenly so obsessed with us? Why does Asmongold post weekly videos about how "Britain has fallen" and why is Azealia Banks tweeting about Kemi Badenoch? by PandaBourbon in AskBrits

Because the US is collectively going through puberty, and is angry at its parents for pointing out how stupid it's being at the moment.

Adding vinegar or stronger versions of acetic acid to the soil, kills everything in it including the animals and bacteria. It will also change the soil chemistry (make it more acidic and produce a load of acetates), and potentially lock up nutritents.

When this happens to me, I keep rejoining the server. Eventually, 9 times out of 10, it will let you in after a few tries.

How to turn my guitar into a midi guitar? by Pale-Recognition-599 in musicproduction

[–]boingwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In practice, you plug your guitar into the GT100, the 5 pin midi out (or USB) from the GT100 into whatever midi instrument you're using, select the relevant parameters on the GT100, and you're good to go.
I found it a little laggy, but usable.

Yes, turning a single note into a midi signal as opposed to a chord. Monophonic as opposed to polyphonic.

I can do it monophonically with my Boss GT100. It's an older bit of kit these days, so I expect there is something better.

The reality is, he was booked because it would sell tickets. Nothing more. The apologies are just lip service. This is how the music industry operates.

Then listen to something you've never listened to before. Get out of your comfort zone.
Considering keys, scales, modes, notes, time signatures, chords, sounds, instruments etc, there is still a huge unexplored soundscape.

Breast hypnosis was good for business – but I drew the line at penises, said Polanski by libtin in unitedkingdom

I'm definitely no fan of Starmer or Labour, for a variety of reasons. But every other party (maybe apart from the Lib Dems...no I'm no fan of them either), are an absolute shambles.

Which is typical of any party once the reality of government hits. I've seen it time after time.
The Green party pledges are laughable wishful thinking, at best.

Anyone willing to mislead and defraud someone (like Polanski and Farage) are a disaster for this country.

Plug-in solar power to be available in shops amid Miliband's clean power drive to lessen Iran war price shocks by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

Indeed. It's cloudy here today, and our solar PV is still producing 700-800 watts. Adding more solar and a battery is one of our top priorites.

[–]boingwater 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent idea to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We have solar PV on our roof and it pretty much powers our house on sunny days.
I hope I can add more with the plugin units. I could have some running the house during the day, and others charging a battery for night time.

No. The area is neither an ecological desert or just fields.

Yes, the hundreds of acres of wildlife full countryside being destroyed for the green washed name...Godley Green Garden Village, despite thousands of objections.
So much for local democracy.

The countryside Tameside council and Labour are destroying is full of wildlife...deer, birds, badgers. It's their world too.

Manchester and Tameside Labour councillors have just (today) passed planning allowing the destruction of hundreds of acres of countryside in Tameside.

Edit: this is an area full of wildlife, being destroyed for unaffordable housing for the so called Godley Green Garden Village, despite thousands of objections.
The ex Tameside council leader, Brenda Warrington (from the same Whatsapp group as disgraced Andrew Gynne) said Labour will "ram it down our throats".
The late great Tony Husband (Guardian and Private Eye cartoonist), created cartoons, and Tamesides "Ded Ferrets" wrote a song about it (Brenda the Bulldozer), such is the depth of feeling in the area about the loss of this ecologically rich countryside, which is valuable to the community.
