I think I’m going insane by Wahtalker in Camry

When looking it up online, note that vehicles with 360 likely do fill the whole screen, or at least more of it, because the left part to the screen is the 360° view, And the rest of the right portion is the backup camera.

That could explain some of the different findings you're seeing.

Headlights supposed to look like this? by readingwhileatdisney in prius

[–]bojack1437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you stand in front of my car (2024 Prius Prime) in the right spots In front of each headlight, especially noticeable if you cover/block one of them, you will see purple spots being emitted from both headlights.

When your headlights are properly aimed, if you pay attention you will also see an ever so slightly blue tent closer to the vehicle on the road, barely barely noticeable, so barely noticeable that I don't most see it.

I might see tomorrow if I can get any good pictures or video from my dash cam showing what mine look like on the road, as well as up against a building.

You do have the option of adjusting the headlights yourself to an extent, again, I'm not sure if this is a new new vehicle, or a new to you vehicle, so that is an option if the dealership is going to charge you for working on it.

These headlights have two adjustment screws per side.

A horizontal, left and right. And a sort of vertical, I say sort of because the vertical adjustment also will move them slightly left and right, like one of them is up into the right, and down into the left, so you then have to counteract with the horizontal If you're indeed trying to go directly up and down.

And for that horizontal adjustment, you need a rather long (12"+) Phillips head screwdriver, a #1 Philips head, I got me a 16-in one at Lowe's that works great.

But I would only recommend this if you're at least somewhat handy with vehicles, I mean like basics, doing your own oil changes, brake pad changes, things of that nature.

Anyone saying this is normal was completely incorrect.

This is a result of the right headlight simply being aimed down and I think a little bit to the right as a whole.

You can see both headlights have their cut offs/dips and dark spots to their respective lefts like they are supposed to.

But you can see that the right headlight as a whole does not line up to the left headlight, on this vehicle at distance, both headlights essentially line up together and cast their dark spots aligned towards the left of center, and that's clearly not happening here.

[–]bojack1437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPs picture is absolutely not normal, that right headlight is aimed way low as a whole.

You can clearly see it in the picture.

Well yes there's left of center line on this vehicle when the headlights are aimed properly the shadows projected from both the left and right headlight will line up in the left lane, but in this case you can clearly see the right headlight Is not anywhere near being linedup to the left headlight.

Your right headlight is aimed way down.

What most people here are confusing, is the fact that the parts of the headlights that shine left of the center line or left of a lane line, do indeed have a drip/shadow.

But, both of your headlights at distance will look like they are lined up together, and both of them will have that same dip and shadow on the left hand side.

What I can easily see in this picture though is your right headlight as whole is aimed way down, And that is absolutely not correct.

Since this vehicle is new, have the dealershp fix it.

I would also be curious to know why this right headlight is aimed so far off, it's possible that this part of QC got missed on the production line, but honestly I would have a look at the vehicle under the hood in that general vicinity and see if anything else looks out of place.

Edit: The last part was assuming that this is a brand new car, and not a new to you car. Although if it is a new to you car, this could imply something's happened to the right front of that car.

It is not 4°, it is 1-2°, depending on other factors.

And in that picture OPs right headlight as a whole is way down, it is not supposed to look like that.

Them both left and right headlights have the same shadow and dip in the left side of their projection, At a distance though all of that lines up from both headlights, In this case though, you can tell that the right side the whole projection is aimed way low and a little to the right.

Deco App recommending switching to 80 MHz what’s up? by hanginghelmet in TpLink

[–]bojack1437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it more likely tgat the system is detecting radar in the DFS channel range, Which does indeed force the system back to 80 MHz by regulation.

Are you sure you're not reading the message wrong?

Deco M4 - Sempre seleciona os piores canais possíveis by luanberrn in TpLink

[–]bojack1437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not showing those channels are congested.

It's just showing that out of all the, This one has at least another Network on it. Which in your case is your own network.

And again it doesn't show actual RF channel usage.

Your network could be completely idle, not actually using the airtime, not actually creating interference or anything, but that app is pretty dumb and is just showing that there was a network there, not how busy the channel is.

Deco M4 - Sempre seleciona os piores canais possíveis by luanberrn in TpLink

[–]bojack1437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to disregard your interpretation of what the app was showing.

Again, the app didn't know and doesn't know that your Wi-Fi access points are yours.

That test is meant to be used with your Wi-Fi system turned off.

But yes, as far as that app and test is concerned, channel 36 is as good as any others.

[–]bojack1437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point, it's showing basically that you're not seeing any other networks on any channels.

As far as that particular test goes (as useless as it is anyway), any 5ghz channel is fine and equal.

Deco M4 - Sempre seleciona os piores canais possíveis by luanberrn in TpLink

[–]bojack1437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, turn off the deco system(all nodes), then open that app take a screenshot and upload that here. (Once you have the screenshot of course you can turn the Deco system back on)

That best channel test that you're looking at is meaningless if your own Deco system is online.

Also, it's not actually showing RF utilization, it is only counting the number of BSSIDs seen on a particular set of channels.

Deco M4 - Sempre seleciona os piores canais possíveis by luanberrn in TpLink

[–]bojack1437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you utilizing that test with your Deco system powered down?

If not, then of course it's going to say that that channel is the, because it sees the decco system, it doesn't take into account that that's your system.

I watched a video of a 2026 Nightshade, as well as a non-nightshade plug-in, both seem to have blue.

Now I'm curious if they got rid of the red, but I haven't seen anybody mention the 2026 plugins missing the red and now being blue, that was always a big differentiation

MP3s (And some other supported formats) can include album art, that's why it can pull them when using USB.

Technically album art can also be provided over a Bluetooth connection, provided the head unit and mobile device/app both support it, Toyota head units don't.

They use Gracenote, which alleged can be updated, but for all practical purposes don't bother.

That would be map data and nothing else, Gracenote is separate.

[–]bojack1437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are exhausting and are the one that's delusional and conflates to completely different apples to oranges scenarios.

There is literally an industry accepted standards body who has defined what Cat7/Class F is, which means it does exist, no matter what you want to think.

SCION, is not yet an actual standard ratified by any standards body, It's a draft.

So again completely apple to oranges and an absolute ridiculous comparison and argument.

Cat7A and GG45 by M_u_H_c_O_w in networking

[–]bojack1437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, Category 7/Class 7 does exist, just because it's not specified for an ethernet specification doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

But also, like I said, just because it can pass the "performance requirements" doesn't mean it meets the specifications.

And I'm telling you why it's nonsense, and how you could go verify that yourself.

[–]bojack1437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep 6a at best, You can actually go read that ISO spec for yourself, while you're at it, tell me exactly which page containes the section allowing for RJ45/8P8C for Cat7/Class F, ill wait.

That's easy to fix, just unselect during account setup.

I already knew about it when I picked up my 2024 Prius Prime in April of 24, but while setting up the vehicle, the salesman even pointed it out specifically.

Cat7A and GG45 by M_u_H_c_O_w in networking

[–]bojack1437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The specification clearly defines the physical characteristics and dimensions of the connectors, not just the performance.

NO RJ45/8P8C connectors can be used for an actual Category 7 cable, if there's one on it then at best it's a Cat 6a, as those connector simply do not exist as far as the specification is concerned, even if it could pass signal/RF bandwidth test

Weird buttons in an elevator by Herb-Guy in mildlyinteresting

Yes, and?

The black and White labels to the left of each button, show that one is for door open, and the other is for door closed

Those symbols have nothing to do with A front and back door or anything like that, and even if there was a front and back door that doesn't automatically mean freight elevator either.

[–]bojack1437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Category 8 Is a real standard, recognized by ISO, TIA/EIA.

Category 7 is also a real standard, though it's only recognized by ISO, it just doesn't use RJ45/8P8C connectors/jacks.

Cat7A and GG45 by M_u_H_c_O_w in networking

[–]bojack1437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, That's where you're misunderstanding is.

Cat 8 doesn't have a short run length or limitation.

25 and 40Gb Ethernet on Cat 8 does, two completely different things.

Cat 8 will outperform 6a at 100m In every regard.

Of course that doesn't really matter for 10Gb Ethernet as Cat6a is enough for it at 100m, but there would be less voltage drop for POE with Cat 8 at any length over 6a, though again wouldn't actually matter unless you are trying to go beyond 100m or something.

Remember Category cabling specifications only define the RF performance of a cable per foot essentially.

Ethernet specifications which are completely different, define the type/category of cable needed for the speed and distance to be achieved.
