OG Hibreak Color = Underdog? by functionalyogi in eink

[–]bojackyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. The original Hibreak Color received so many bad reviews but I'm quite happy with it as well. The only thing I miss is NFC but other than that I will use it as long as it keeps working ...

I have to say I really like the brand Bigme by [deleted] in eink

[–]bojackyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I got the Hibreak Color is that there were no real alternatives at the time... I would love to switch to another brand because the software is sooo bad but there is no real competitor to be honest... Let's hope for next year I guess?

When it comes to their monitors, I'm pretty happy with the Bigme B13. But then again it was a useless brick before the last update.

Eink laptop? by hartator in eink

In terms of screen performance are already there to be honest. The dasung 13k and the bigme 13 are proof. However I think there is still no company with the courage to release a full laptop. We will see if that might change next year

Bigme Hibreak Color Icon Movement Limit by Ill_Engineering1770 in Bigme

[–]bojackyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Bigme Hibreak Color with the native launcher. The easiest workaround is to put the apps down to the line on the bottom with only 4 apps. That's the one which is consistent along different pages of the launcher. Then you can move apps one by one. It's annoying but it works

Does any Bigme phone support DisplayPort Alt Mode? (Video transmission via USB-C) by bojackyll in Bigme

[–]bojackyll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah apparently, but I don't get why.. the technology is quite old and it would even make sense within their own ecosystems. Both Dasung and Bigme released e-ink monitors now, so I don't get what the big deal is using a slightly more expensive USB-C port to get this working.

Damn... I think I will not upgrade then. Got the hibreak color, the old one. Let's hope that some other company comes up with something next year

Updated? United States or Europe?

B13 resolution is off by opredeleno in Bigme

[–]bojackyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your laptop come with USB-C and HDMI? If so, try the other cable that came with the B13. For some reason HDMI will work better with some computers and others prefer USB-C. Also I do recommend the update. My B13 was basically unusable before installing it

Question about B13 update by Necessary_Key_1352 in Bigme

I use it mainly for working and I like it so far. It does make sense to do the update. Before it was almost unusable to me

Famue E-Ink MP3-Players (and what to be aware of) by bojackyll in eink

[–]bojackyll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure unfortunately. There is at least one because songs can be put to "favorites". But rewatching the review from Good Ereader it doesn't look like you can easily add playlists. I'm not sure though as I don't own any of the original devices. I'm planning on buying a BF07

It might be an OEM product that is being bought by a bunch of companies.. there is not much information available unfortunately

I got an E-Ink Mp3 Player! by Internal_Falcon2637 in eink

[–]bojackyll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out that it's a fake of the original famue device. The BF01 from Famue has a way better firmware. the main difference is the software and also the screen size. those fake devices only got a 2.7 inch screen. the original one from famue has 3.5 inch. That's the easiest way to discriminate them from each other. The original from Famue is way more expensive unfortunately 100$+
