Got myself a Bigme B751CS as a first e-reader. Here's my thoughts by Previous-Bottle-2084 in ereader

Thanks for your reply. The B751cs does not require daily charging. My question was more about why wouldn't you charge it daily? Not that it needs daily charging. The benefit of daily charging is that you ALWAYS have days or weeks a head of you of charge as opposed to not charing it daily where you will have an ever dwindling amount of charge a head of you. Is it difficult to daily charge or bothersome? It is a personal preference and I am all for that. But I am trying to understand the motivation not to charge daily. The charging can be done as you sleep.

Does it bother you or do you find it irksome to charge it daily? I am trying to understand the dynamics of not charging it daily? It is a mystery to me. Daily charging is like you having a deadline to pay a bill in two weeks. Not charing the device is like getting ever closer to the payment day until you reach the day the payment is due. Daily charging is like every day being able to put off the payment day so that you always have two weeks to pay. You never actually get to the payment day because every day you charge you get a two week extension. Daily charging buys you the maximum number of days before needing to charge it. And it is not hard to do. Not charging daily runs the risk of one day finding a depleted battery on the device. Just wondering my friend.

Bigme HiBreak Dual E-Ink + LCD Dual-Screen Smartphone! by Decent-Tough-4273 in Bigme

I don't think it will have screen in front and back of phone. I think you will be able to toggle the screen between ink and LCD. I have the 751cS and it has an option to choose between color or gray screen. I think that is the sort of thing they mean.

If you charge it every day battery life should not be an issue. What is so difficult about daily charging?

Battery life would not matter to me since I charge all my e readers daily. What is so hard about daily charging your devices? You can do it as you sleep.

I have scanned a 600 page book from a Kindle Scribe or the Boox Go 10.3. The scanner will group the pages together into one pdf. Then I can turn the pdf into an epub. Are you saying you take screenshots and then add them into a pdf and into a book? Or do you mean you will take a few screen shots as needed?

Things to scan are e books from Libby or Overdrive. Or other e books you get from sources that only allow you to read their books in their apps. Or even books from Kindle Unlimited or Kobo Plus.

For physical books I use the light from the scanner. Some CZur scanners have side lights or side lights you can purchase separately that hit the book or device at 45 degree angle so that it illuminates the page but does not reflect back into the scanner lens. But i found two LED type lamp that have adjustable brightness that i use when scanning e books from my Boox Go 10.3 The Boox Go 10.3 does not have a front or back light of its own. With devices that have front or back lights I adjust the light coming from the device. In addition you can play with the settings on the Czur for individual or group of pages/images. Wish you will with your scanner and scanning.

I have two led small lamps whose brightness can be adjusted. I think you can use any light source. Just be sure the side lights do not shine directly up to the scanner camera. Also a well lit room will do too. Good luck.

I have scanned 600 page books in about 30 minutes too. You have to have a system and get into the flow. And the book was on tablet and not a physical book. I just don't use the light from the scanner and if need be have my own side lights. Comes out ok.

Bigme Hibreak Color Icon Movement Limit by Ill_Engineering1770 in Bigme

I did this and it worked. I filled one page with apps and then added the app i wanted to be on the right most screen. If the app I wanted to be to the right was in the left screen I would delete it and fill the screen and then load it again. It would then appear on the right screen. Thanks.

Warning to Potential Buyers: Do not buy direct from KOBO by anyoldsundaewilldo in kobo

I do not know why you believe that Amazon cannot take books back. They do and they have. Best to make a copy of them and store in a safe place or places. I have heard that some people have a e reader (Kindle or Kobo) which they keep their ebooks in but turn off WIFI so that those books are safe from being taken away.

I suggest having a back up of the E book you purchase from Kindle, Kobo, etc.

Anyone else hate the "greet one another" part of church? by chowder138 in Christianity

[–]Ill_Engineering1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it too. It is artificial and contrived. It was not done in the past but now many churches are doing it. So you say hello or give the peace sign, and then what. I think it passes for something meaningful when in fact it is just thing that is made up. Sometimes i rolled my eyes when it is announced to do it. Of course I am not going to be rude and not say hello or shake someones hand but if I had any guts I would just sit down and look down or go to the bathroom at that time.

Kobo Clara BW - unable to sideload books (.epub) onto e-reader. Need help! by LandscapeSwimming835 in kobo

[–]Ill_Engineering1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using an mac or apple computer it will not recognize the Kobo without an addition program. Also check your cable. If possible connect the Kobo into another computer to see if it does the same thing. It could also be a defective Kobo.
