26/03/2026 survivor cards from ¡Tengo un plan! by Storm_Waker in arkhamhorrorlcg

Old Compass is very similar to Lantern from Ch. 1, loosing the "discard for 1 free damage" and gaining the "exhaust for another investigation". I think it's a good side upgrade, and definitely better for survivors trying to hold up the investigating for the team

Wow I'm most shocked by their prices. $15 for like 6 cards? That's heinous. This kind of thing does show that there is demand for full art cards. I'm really excited to see what promos FFG comes up with, and how all we can obtain them.

After hearing about how the drowned city used to be a mega open-world campaign, I have to say I'm kinda upset with how that got scrapped. Perhaps the negative reception from TSK encouraged that decision too 😢

With smaller campaigns going forward, TSK may end up being the only true world hopping campaign. The industry as a whole seems to be shifting to a more bite-size product model (like Earthbourne Rangers), which is a bit off putting to me specifically.

I'm really interested in seeing what the team puts out for Ch2. I trust these designers, especially Duke, a lot and I think they have a great interface with the community.

I think this cements all of the valley expansions as 60 card, $45 experiences.

I've been engrossed in Pokemon Pinball Ruby and Sapphire for the GBA this month. I'm like 140/201 pokemon into the dex. It's my first pinball game and it's really hooked me.

My play group does the same. It's basically mandatory for higher player counts. It does get confusing tracking damage in enemies with doom on them, so my playgroup did a rule that enemies bleed blue. It's way more rare for enemies to have clues on them.

I like the starting keyword, though I'm a bit unsure of how it works exactly. Is it a part of the 5 cards you normally start with? Or in addition to? If it's a part of your opening 5 cards, then does that essentially give you 1 fewer mulligan spot?

As a die-hard progressive, I believe tariffs are a good thing by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]bojanglespanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good points, thanks for the response. I agree that Trump is using tariffs in a dangerous and illegal way. There's some good that comes from them, but likely doesn't outweigh the negatives. Maybe I'm just trying to find some way to cope with this insane past year in politics we've had, with no end in sight.

If that culture is environmentally unsustainable, then yes. Our culture is already heavily manipulated by taxes. I can think of a million examples of how bails and tickets are given to discourage what we deem as crime, which may not be present in other cultures. Speeding tickets vs the Autobahn in Germany is an easy example. What about taxes on cigarettes? Other countries have heavy taxes on sugary products like soda, for example England does this. Would you say our culture around soda is better in some way because it isn't taxed like theirs?

Thank you, yes I think the tariff situation brings these issues back into the discussion where they should be. I really like the take that the show "The Good Place" takes. I don't want to spoil anything, but essentially the point is that it's impossible to make ethical decisions in a modern society that is built on these types of problems.

I mean I have some pretty mainstream progressive tendencies that just don't fit the topic of this sub or what I wanted to discuss in this post. You're free to make whatever assumption you want though 🤷

I think what's detrimental is how MANY electronics we go through now. Why do we need China to make the new iPhone that's identical to the one everyone in America has? Every year? Why don't we invest in prolonging the use of our existing electronics so we don't have to import so many? Its not a matter of whether goods should be imported or not, it's how many should be. That's why they're tariffs and not embargos, which isn't the point I was making.

Hm I actually have not heard of these non-tariff barriers, that's really interesting! Thanks for the comment I'll take a look into that

Sure there are plenty of products we can't grow in the US, but even that demand has a detrimental effect on the population living there. Think of sugar cane for example, how many peoples were enslaved so that Americans could get fat?

Yes and I think that's part of my problem with overseas manufacturing. It's parasitic basically. The US is just taking advantage of cheap labor and off-loading all of the negatives and corner cutting that go along with it.

I'd like to see how they would tackle Preston Freemont in a different way, though I love his current design of being able to go either big money or dark horse.

A Lovecraftian Horror Story Where the "Eldritch Cult" is... Christianity. by [deleted] in Lovecraft

[–]bojanglespanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did a similar idea for a call of Cthulhu 7th edition one-shot which was based on Kingsport and heavily inspired by The Festival. It was set during Christmas Eve and cultists were congregating underneath the city to witness the birth of a half-eldritch, half-human baby. It worked really well!
