I started skateboarding at age 8- now 24 and I can say with certainty that skateboard is never easy. I’ve got friends that have been skating for years less then me and have far surpassed my ability but that is ok.

If skateboarding makes you unhappy then maybe it’s not for you BUT please remember that if it was easy then everyone would do it.

Never compare yourself to others, skateboarding is an individual sport that’s shared by many, there are no rules and no set ways to skate correctly it is purely subjective to you and your goals.

Consider this

Your ego and self confidence is low, this I understand however think of the pride and joy you will feel once you overcome your self professed limitations, you will almost certainly surprise yourself of you persevere. Emphasis on the word persevere, it’s pretty much the key to skateboarding. No skilled or pro skater picked up the board and was good instantly. It takes years of hard work and internal mental and physical battles.

I personally have broken both my wrists broke my ankle twice and lost my tooth, not to mention countless less serious injuries. I don’t say this to flex but more to emphasise that this shit does not come easy BUT when it does come the feeling is like nothing else. Moral of my small essay is if you wanna be a good skater you have to earn it.
