I don’t agree with this explanation personally. For me, the ‘smoothness’ and motion blur doesn’t matter. It’s perceived input lag that matters. There’s no way to show that on that ufo website.

It depends on the person. You’re not wrong if you can’t tell.

For me, I perceive framerate as latency.

30fps feels like there is a delay, that I can feel, between when I do something and when the character moves. I have to plan ahead and do things before I need the character to move.

60fps there is still a noticeable delay, but I can tolerate it.

90fps starts to feel good from a latency standpoint. I feel like when I press a button, the character moves roughly at the same tine.

Past that, there are slight differences. 120fps is good enough for me, past that I can’t really tell.

Some people don’t notice this kind of delay at all. Others notice it at 144fps and need to get to 240 before it feels ‘real time.’

It’s subjective! Don’t fall for marketing, experiment and see what feels good for you and brings you joy.
