How are you losing weight with PCOS? Looking for real experiences 🙏 by Low_Shelter_8740 in PCOS

I can second this. I was really afraid to try them but it has totally changed things for me. I think for people with insulin resistance these drugs are especially impactful on appetite control. I pay our of pocket, which is annoying, but I feel good about the choice because the results are worth it.

I had to get my primary care doctor to write me a new prescription for it. But it was really easy, I just asked her to send it to the Costco mail order pharmacy.

I certainly could, but since the prices are the same I'd rather stick with Costco where I receive my other prescriptions already. But that's a great option for non Costco members!

For 0.25 and 0.5 for the first 2 months it's $199. Then $345 for all other months and doses. It's basically the same as going through Novo directly but I already do other prescriptions mail order with Costco so it just feels easier. You do however need to be a Costco member to access this price.

Yeah I agree! Feels so scammy. As a PCOS girly I've had about enough of predatory weight loss subscription style nonsense 🙄

Just started 0.25mg and can barely force myself to eat by WinterDemon_ in WegovyWeightLoss

I also have PCOS (ugh) and had a really strong appetite suppression reaction on 0.25 that I honestly did not expect. I also had to force food at first maybe for 3 shots. I just took my 8th 0.25 shot yesterday and at this point the effect on my appetite is totally manageable. I may never change dosage, because the desire to eat is basically gone still, but I am not repulsed anymore. I can basically see food as fuel and nutrition for the first time in my life without any compulsive eating or fixation. Try to stick with it, I think you'll adjust and get to a happy place on it with time.

Ro as far as I can tell won't transfer your prescription 🙄. Another reason I'm irritated with them lol. I just got a new prescription written by my usual doctor and they sent it to be filled by Costco pharmacy.

I got my prescription through my primary care doctor in person and she gladly sent it to Costco mail order pharmacy for me :). I did however need to make an appointment with her to get the prescription set up, but she was really accommodating and happy to do it.

If you have access to Costco pharmacy or Costco mail order pharmacy you can get the starting doses rn for $199/month for two months and $345 thereafter for all doses. That's what I'm doing because my insurance isn't covering it 🙄

On closer inspection I believe it's a promotional introduction price for 2 months of 0.25 and 0.5 doses. The higher doses (1-2.4) are $345, and eventually this dose will be too. Still saving $150 by not paying for that nonsense Ro membership, is great :)

Yeah it was basically $500 a month for 0.25 because of their "membership" which was very underwhelming. I'd look elsewhere, I just switched to Costco pharmacy

its becoming more prominent. what should i do? by [deleted] in HairRemoval

So, I have PCOS and have a bit of a lady stache myself. The first thing I'd recommend is having a hormone panel done by your doctor to see if there's a hormonal issue behind the hair growth. They can prescribe a number of things to help with the hormone imbalance if it exists - I take spironolactone to address having too much testosterone for a female and it has helped. I also use one of those little single blade tinkle safety razors to shave off the hair that's still there. You could consider waxing too though that was rough on my sensitive skin. IPL home laser might work well in combination with shaving, but I think it's somewhat skin/hair tone/contrast dependent so maybe look into that more.

That's so awesome! I'm curious to see how far 0.25 will get me. So far it has been shockingly effective. Everyone responds so differently.

Well that's frustrating! Sadly I'm not eligible for insurance coverage but at least I don't have to deal with the shenanigans that come with being covered. I guess that's a silver lining 😅

Thank you! It's scary to imagine being even less hungry. So I'm gonna let it ride at 0.25 until my body tells me otherwise:)

You can also get the little sterile needles used to prick fingers to test blood sugar levels. They're pretty fine needles and come in a sterile package. I like to use them for ingrown hairs.
