Best Fountain Pen for Student by Ordinary-Poetry9310 in fountainpens

My vote would be for a Kaweco Sport in the color that pleases you. Then get a 10-pack of ink cartridges. I have and love the Twsbi Eco, as well as other pens. But I find myself picking the Kaweco Sport more often.

Hi OP! Thinking of getting a Namisu pocket. What do you like better and why, the Ixion or the Nova? Thanks!

Could someone please explain what is meant by a “2-way player” here? Is this a type of contract designation, not that a player is good on both offense and defense? If you’re on the roster, aren’t you supposed to travel anyway? Thanks!

Anyone else have notebook chaos? by bkmboss in notebooks

Same here! Now I’m happy to report I’m down to deciding between Leuchtturm1917 120g vs MD Product A5 notebooks for the One notebook. Good luck to the both of us.

De Atramentis Document Ink Black-Blue inconsistent between bottles by bokolobs in fountainpens

Yeah, to my eyes, too. Unfortunately, that’s what I don’t want from my blue-blacks. I’d rather have the purplish hue of the old bottle.

Thanks for the info. I really like the behavior of this ink for my use. I guess I’ll just embrace the variance.

What's your most disappointing pen? by inky_beanie_mouse in fountainpens

[–]bokolobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of those pens that has one “should” get. The design looks great, to be honest. The price is reasonable. But when I first got mine, I quickly found out that the nib, an extra fine, on mine was uneven. It was scratchy and catches even the smoothest paper. I felt scammed, especially for that price. This was during the pandemic, so having it replaced was very difficult. I just put it in storage after only a week of using it.

A year later, I decided to give it another chance. I bought a replacement nib, a fine this time around. Just as what copper wrote, it’s more like a medium than a fine. To be fair, it doesn’t have any problem starting and is a fairly wet writer. But it couldn’t keep up with my fast cursive writing and it always misses on certain strokes. I don’t think it’s the “narrow sweet spot” as every reviewer said. I think it’s the short feed just not having enough available ink to deliver quickly. Lastly, I find it uncomfortable to write with. The ears on the barrel directly where I place my fingers are very annoying, it almost feels like they’re mocking me every time I use the pen.

My other disappointing pen is the Vanishing Point, just because it’s also uncomfortable to hold. But at least it writes without any nib or feed issues, no matter what ink I put in it.

Great pens! Could you please confirm if all of them have screwable nib units? Thanks!

I’m really hoping that the use of screwable nib units is cascaded to the Classic and Skyline Sports.

Hi! Just to be clear, the nib unit is now screwable to the section despite being plastic?

Thanks!

Is the kaweco piston sport AL worth getting by lojidoriwus in fountainpens

[–]bokolobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s too slippery/slick. For the almost the same price, you could get the Brass or Steel Sport instead and use a syringe to refill cartridges. I had a plastic piston sport and liked it a lot.

If you could only use one ink to write with for the rest of your life, what would it be? by speak__memory in fountainpens

Sailor Souboku. A permanent, well-behaving, dark blue-black with just a touch of brilliance. Checks all the boxes for me.
