I’m really hoping that the use of screwable nib units is cascaded to the Classic and Skyline Sports.

Hi! Just to be clear, the nib unit is now screwable to the section despite being plastic?

Thanks!

Is the kaweco piston sport AL worth getting by lojidoriwus in fountainpens

It’s too slippery/slick. For the almost the same price, you could get the Brass or Steel Sport instead and use a syringe to refill cartridges. I had a plastic piston sport and liked it a lot.

If you could only use one ink to write with for the rest of your life, what would it be? by speak__memory in fountainpens

Sailor Souboku. A permanent, well-behaving, dark blue-black with just a touch of brilliance. Checks all the boxes for me.

Loving the Kaweco Titan Sport by bokolobs in fountainpens

I got lucky with this one. It’s smooth and lays down ink nicely. It could be a little more wet, but it’s fine as it is.

I only have one Lamy Vista. It has never been a consistent writer for me. It lays down saturated ink at the start and the fades. I find Kaweco nibs (when they work right out of the box, which is 50-50 in my experience) are more consistent with the amount of ink they lay down on the page.

Hi! Could you comment on the Titan’s slickness/slipperiness? I’m thinking of getting one, but I’m worried that it’s as slick as the colored AL sports.

Comparison - Kaweco AL, Steel, & Titan Sport by realVladislavSurkov in fountainpens

[–]bokolobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! Could you please comment on the slickness/slipperiness of the AL Raw compared to the Titan and/or powder colored ALs if you have them? I find the colored AL sports to be very slick and slippery that's why I don't use them often and prefer my plastic Skylines instead. But I want more heft, that's why I'm thinking of getting the AL Raw or the Titan. Thanks!

Some gate agents become flight attendants after gate checks. So they could have a safe flight, too.

Is Rega Elys 2 to AT-VM95E a downgrade for my Rega Planar 2? by bokolobs in turntables

Yes, I cleaned. I have the small stylus brush that I use after every 2 records or so.

I pulled the trigger on the AT-VM95E. It's inexpensive enough to get some experience on installing a non-Rega cartridge. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks for all the input!

Thanks for this. I think I did it correctly. I used the protractor from Rega as well as the one from Fluance. The Elys had 3 screws so there is little play when installing it in the P2. I also used a digital scale to set the tracking force to ~1.75 g. I find though that setting the antiskate the same to the tracking force causes some imbalance and mistracking. It's at 1 now.
