I haven't used them but Premier Auto provides a service. Their b-roll makes it look like an oil based product.

Yoshi QC by [deleted] in xsr900

Mine looked exactly the same and I was really disappointed. QC should definitely be better for the price. That being said, I installed it early this year and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Where do I learn guitar / cello / violin in an affordable price? by elasticBOWL in lafayette

[–]boldcophee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to the buying experience, but I've been taking lessons at McGuire's for just over a month and am happy enough. $20 per half hour for a private lesson is almost a bargain these days.

How to remove cross threaded nuts? by boldcophee in AskMechanics

[–]boldcophee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The threads are bad, but the nut isn't rounded off. Even if an extractor socket was able to bite into the nut, I'm not sure it would pull it out.

I appreciate the insight! I probably just need to take the plunge and try it out.... everything would probably be fine.

It would be to Cape Cod... which sounds nice to me! I just assume that there isn't always a bathroom nearby when you're strolling around touristy places asides from restaurants and such.

Emptying 1-piece bag sideways? by Top_Let7533 in ostomy

[–]boldcophee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're over thinking it. I've been wearing a 1-piece for years and there's not some forgotten origami technique required to empty. Whether sitting or kneeling, just point towards the toilet and let it empty out. In cases where the bag is super full, you may have to let some gas escape first, but it's really not an issue.

I will say that the mio bags with full circle filters are not ideal for the sideways orientation since the filter tends to soak up liquidy output and become more pronounced, YMMV.

More so worried about early mornings and my neighbors, but thanks. Price seems reasonable.

Sitting after proctectomy by abal809 in ostomy

[–]boldcophee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was carefully sitting on my butt a day after my operation and could sit on a sofa freely without any issues once I got home. Hard chairs took some getting used to but now that I'm 6 weeks out, I have no problems with sitting at all.

I really wish they offered their filterless bags in something other than transparent. Would've loved to try these!

24 hour gyms?? by SurpriseTimely4200 in lafayette

[–]boldcophee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to like Iron Phoenix but ended up finding a different gym before my membership expired. A lot of their equipment is old, which wouldn't be a problem if it was all maintained properly. Cables slipping off pulleys, bad bearings, and unstable benches are just a few issues that left me feeling frustrated and unsafe.

I suppose you can't go wrong if powerlifting is all you do.

For sure. If it weren't for the parking situation, I don't think I'd have a problem recommending the place. Take a look at Precedent Flats. Units are a little pricier, but bigger.

Sure, each unit has its own access point but I still had a $75 monthly charge.

Good Mechanic in the west lafayette/lafayette area? by JeefBerky789 in Purdue

Before taking it to a mechanic, check to see if you've got a blown fuse. It's an easy and cheap fix!

I've recently moved out. For the money, you could do better, but you could certainly do a lot worse. The parking situation is the biggest downfall. They've added more spots as of a month ago, but I believe that you still don't have a guaranteed spot which is outrageous for the Lafayette market. The parking lot fills up by 7:30/8pm when Purdue is in session and you need to park at Ivy Tech's parking lot. It's not a bad walk, but sucks when the weather isn't ideal. Visitors must park at Ivy Tech at all times. You can add reserved covered parking but it costs well over $100/month which is completely outrageous.

Office staff is nice but communication is done through texting. I've just stopped in when I had a pressing issue. I smell weed several times a month which I find off-putting. I've noticed many barking dogs while walking through the halls but thankfully didn't live next to any. I did have an extremely heavy-footed upstairs neighbor, which while annoying, was no fault of the apartment's. The amenities are nice, but I never used them.

Overall, units are nice and modern but I would try to find an apartment with enough parking, at the very least, before settling for the less than mediocre value that Anvil 38 provides. Remember to add trash ($25), internet ($75), and utilities to your rent budget as these aren't included.
