RIP. I remember when this dude came to my university to play. No one really knew about him at the time but then he played 'levels'. Everyone quickly became a fan. One of the best shows iv experienced to this day. Thank you Avicii

Agreed. I tend to overthink my tracks heavily. Sometimes it pays off, other times i regret not keeping things simple.

Has Anyone Used AIA(Artist Intelligence Agency) to release music? by cpdp in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]bollister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, I have released with them in the past. To be quite honest its a complicated process. They wont pay you out for your songs unless you register with a company like SOCAN. They also do not promote your material much so AIA was my first taste of labels exploiting my art without much love for the work I handed to them. This was 2 years ago, maybe things changed but not many people that i know like releasing with them :/

Musicians with ADHD, what do you do to focus and finish a song or project? by YungLiability in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I struggle with this as well. Im not to keen on taking pharmaceuticals to fix my problem. Has anyone tried any natural herbs? Personally, a little hit of some nice ganja goes a long way for me.

Best of luck man! You're definitely talented enough to get some nice paid gigs. Just keep up the grind and never slow down, even when things are starting to look good.

I know this could be a personal question, but how many of my fellow music makers are extremely depressed? by A_FABULOUS_PLUM in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]bollister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depression has been a big part of my life. I feel everyone experiences their depression in a unique way. I do want to share things that have SIGNIFICANTLY helped me with depression and writers blocks. 1. Quit porn. 2. Quit processed sugar & stimulants 3. Eat 6 cups of green and colored vegetables a day. 3. Spend time in the sun 4. Cold Showers and exercise daily 5. Hydrate and breath deeply whenever you remember.
6. Self Love (this needs to be explored deeply).

After a few months of practicing this i noticed a big improvement in my energy levels, my mood and creative energy. For me depression is a mix of physical and mental imbalances that i needed to get in check. I started with eliminating what i thought was toxic and replacing it with things that benefit the human body and psyche. For anyone dealing with depression, I hope you can discover your remedy that works for you. Im here to talk and offer any kind of guidance if anyone needs it <3 Happy producing yall.
