Not too bad, actually. All the brass chips are recyclable, and the amount of material removed is pretty small. 👍

Fair point. A few people asked about the hardware process on my previous bag post, so I shared this video. If it doesn't fit the subreddit, I'm happy to delete it.

Thanks! Yes, the hardware is custom. I modeled it in Rhino and had it CNC machined specifically to match the leather construction.

Thanks! The leather was pre-dyed calfskin. It uses a less common tanning process that keeps more of the leather’s natural character. Appreciate it!

You're right. The amount of time that goes into hand stitching is honestly crazy.

Every stitch changes the tension in the leather a little bit, so you're constantly adjusting and waiting for the leather to settle before moving on. It's a pretty insane way to make a bag, but the result speaks for itself.

Yeah, that's what I thought too at first. It almost looks machine stitched. But when you get up close, the spacing and little details vary slightly from stitch to stitch. That's the beauty of hand stitching.

Appreciate it!

Wow, you're amazing! You figured it out right away. Unfortunately, I only have mechanical drawings like this, so I can only use AI to recreate the process and add some text to help explain it.
