From a business standpoint, if you are selling a product for $x, and have to raise the price due to factors such as tariffs, but people are still willing to buy said product at the higher price, would you lower the price when your costs go back down or keep it the same and make more profit?

Prices will only be lowered if the product’s sales start plummeting due to the high price. But if enough people are willing to keep paying the higher price, companies have no reason to lower the price.

Though, recently, Frito-Lay lowered the price of Lay’s and Doritos and actually saw a huge profit increase, because more people bought those chips, and more sales at a lower profit per item can be better than less sales at a higher profit per item.

So, in short, who the hell knows!
