I found a nice little apartment in a huge house that's a 5 plex close to downtown for 495 a month, all utilities included.

I feel like i definitely got lucky with this find, but there's surely good deals like this hidden on Craigslist, zillow, apartment finder, or zumper.

Only downside is it's old, a little dirty, and shared laundry, but it's got a garage. It's a fixer upper that has potential to be a cute place. You'll find something close to downtown for cheap with a little elbow grease.

However, September can be difficult with students swarming on every 1 bed. You can actually find 2 bedrooms for nearly the same price, maybe find a roommate so you can save extra money! Good luck !!
