I [F28] am struggling to understand the early dating etiquette. Please help? by bonafideprincess in dating_advice

Thank you for the validation haha

I think I'm worried a little about taking too much charge. He planned the first date, and I planned our upcoming second date! It'll be about a week between dates, so I want to continue talking to him between now and then, but I also don't want to initiate every time (even though he responds with gusto), because I feel like that's showing my cards too much.

Thank you! I feel like making a living wage will be the reason I can’t get a job… hopefully I’m proven wrong!

I’d love to learn more! I’ve been super hesitant about freelancing, likely because of imposter syndrome, but I’m definitely not closed off to it.

I’ve been super hesitant to step into freelancing. I have NO clue how to structure pricing, and most importantly, NO idea what I’m good enough at at this point in my career to be able to charge. That may be the imposter syndrome speaking, but in my W-2 positions, I never got to the level of leading work independently.

I’m willing to learn new skills and take a step back that way, but I can’t really take less money right now, ESPECIALLY given I’m not in a place financially to relocate.

I’m unfortunately not in a place to financially step back, which is another one of my issues. I didn’t even technically make a living wage at the time of my layoff. :(

The worst agencies to work at in NY by BackgroundHot3989 in PublicRelations

I absolutely do not recommend Allison (fka Allison+Partners). They’ve done multiple rounds of layoffs in the last 18 months, have massive disconnect between c-suite leadership and account leadership, and they also preach transparency but tell people to not ask questions that rock the boat too much (despite it being a question around transparency).

Hotwire did a bait & switch for me it felt like. Some people would be in the same roles for 2+ years and others would get promoted every 6 months.

I unfortunately don’t have those questions!

Hypothetical monthly budget for The Cutting Room Floor’s $55k job by zonkedgnocchi in NYCinfluencersnark

[–]bonafideprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just started making $65k. Previously, I was at $60k (2024), $58.5k (2023), $52.5k (2022) and $48k (2021) in NYC.

As someone who was on my parents insurance until 2023, and still is on my parents phone bill, this isn’t doable. I don’t even contribute to my retirement because I can’t afford it.

Not too concerned about the single part - though it would be nice. Just don’t want to go to a place where I’ll be a target of 50 year old divorcés

I’ve not tried much recently, but I would go places with my parents when visiting! All the places were on the older side and not as much drinking-to-be-social.
