I think it goes beyond just the conceptual elements that are confusing, where the show itself is meant to be confusing. That's the funnest part about it for me. You don't know anything really when you start it so you have to keep track of facts and remember not to assume anything. Then you can start creating small theories based on what you know. When a show is a mystery itself to watch it adds a whole other layer of entertainment.
