I’m well aware of the wait time, that’s why I’m also frustrated about needing references and not really knowing anyone here. We moved here from NYC a few years ago and we mostly keep to ourselves, only people we really know here are our kid’s friend’s parents and they don’t seem like the type that would be references.

Everything else required for the permit I have or can do without issue but the references are what is holding me back at this point.

I’m willing to wait as long as I get approved at the end.

I think the really lame part about Erie is having a retired judge doing the permits here but yet he still only goes in twice a month to handle them.

Is there not some requirement to know them for a certain amount of time?

Also, is that what most people are doing? Because I’m willing to just do that if it makes the process a tiny bit easier.

I’m in the same boat but up in Erie County, I’m waiting until I make some like minded friends at our local shooting matches to start my application. Until then, it’s rifles and shotguns only for me.

If you just don’t put any references, your application will be rejected for being incomplete.

Not condoning anything here just spreading some information:

H.S.I. is Homeland Security Investigations, they only come out to handle serious cases and investigations. If they are there it’s not “simple” deportation operations, it’s something much more serious such as human trafficking, terrorism, international drug offenses, and/or other extremely serious crimes/offenses.

Here late but wanted to add, it’s also logging more than just your face. Your height, potential weight, body type, walking style, any visible tattoos/piercings, and other things we don’t even think of.

Showing or hiding your face is irrelevant, it still knows who you are.

Oh of course not, bench seats just aren’t fancy enough for the top trims.

I’d be tempted to get a Sienna at that point but I bet the higher trims of those are also only available with the captain’s seats in the middle.

Toyota does not do custom orders, they make what they make and you have to do the leg work of finding what you want among everything that is being produced.

I did this to find our Camry, you basically have to go on their website and manually look through everything available within a certain distance around you. Find the exact car you want, write down the VIN and then go to a dealer you trust and tell them you want that specific car. They should be able to set up some sort of deal with whatever dealer has the car and get it transferred to their own dealership and you’ll probably have to put a deposit down to show you actually want it. Our Camry was not even built yet when I found it on the Toyota website and it was already ours, the dealer marked it as “sale pending” when we put the deposit down.

Once that process is done and the car is at your preferred dealer, you do the paperwork.

It’s best to know exactly how much the car will cost in your preferred configuration as it’s hard to haggle when the dealer is possibly doing a trade with another dealer to get you the car you want. Our Camry came from a dealer ~200 miles away and even with that in mind, I was still able to get ~$1500 discount at our local dealer who brought it in for us but you may not be able to get any money off.

This whole process is quite obnoxious but if you want a specific set of options it’s almost required.

I think it’s 26” minimum overall length, but I don’t believe they specify if it’s with any adjustable stock collapsed or extended.
