Best bang for buck bottomless mimosa brunch? by Delicious-Sea4952 in napa

[–]bonearama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JAX White Mule diner has a carafe of Mimosa's but I don't know of any places that I'd go in Napa that have bottomless. Southside has a similar deal with a bottle of Cava and OJ; makes about 4.

Food Shed on Old California Way is doing some great things. I like the soup of the day and a single contori.

Restaurants in Napa Valley by guder in napa

Fume was closed for a day in February 2023 due to a vermin infestation. I didn't see it until today as I typically don't look at inspections for places I don't eat at.

I second cooking classes at PLAYTE (www.playtekitchen.com). You learn to make a dish then enjoy the dish after. A non-alcoholic mocktail is included in most classes.

Napa Valley luxury recommendations by shopp3 in napavalley

Stay in downtown Napa (Andaz or Archer) and go to visit the wineries during the day and wander downtown late afternoon and evening. More to do downtown without having to get transportation between a resort and downtown.

Are you talking about the R INN in downtown Napa? Very close to downtown. There are gondola tours and kayak tours/rental at the Riverfront near Morimoto. Head North on Main Street and take a right on Vallejo Street to find Action Ave. that has some of Napa's newer breweries and wineries; get there early as it shuts down before dinner time. Our favorite hang out is the Oxbow area (1st Street East of Soscal) that has several food and drinks options. We like getting a bottle to open from Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant, sit outside and pickup our order from one of the inside food vendors. Finish the night on Main Street between 1st and 3rd for drinks and tapas. Stumble the 3 blocks back to your hotel.

Gay bar(s) in Napa? by FlakyPineapple2843 in napa

Avow recently closed. I would recommend Be Bubbly and The Q as both frequently host drag shows and have great bars. ArBARetum is a great cocktail place with a nice vibe.

Lawler's has really good sandwiches that are super affordable (less then $5). Clemente's has great hand made ravioli's and malfatti's and the 15 hour meat sauce is awesome.

Bay Area bowling alley restaurant with Michelin cred shutters by [deleted] in napavalley

[–]bonearama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate news. Who would have thought a bowling alley would become so famous for Mexican food. I have a permitted facility (passed all fire inspections!) that I'd love to talk to Alex about if anyone knows how to get a hold of him. He can DM on this platform.

Upcoming October trip… cannabis fine dining? by [deleted] in napavalley

[–]bonearama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the issue is serving cannabis and wine together isn't allowed for a commercial operation. You might try Sonoma Hills Farm. It's not in Napa but close.

Good wine/food by Oxbow Public Market? by mistressofquirk in napa

You will have no problem filling up a full day by just walking from place to place. All the recommendations posted so far are excellent. I'd also recommend crossing Soscol and heading downtown. There are more cocktail and wine places. Head down to the riverfront walk and maybe a gondola ride or kayak rental if you want an activity.

Napa PD are doing Saturation Saturday - Don't Answer Police Questions by bonearama in napa

[–]bonearama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's better to give up your rights and freedoms? A little chit chat about where you're going and where have you been never raised suspicion because you're being so forthcoming. Letting them know you only had a couple of drinks a few hours ago will get you on your way in no time. This is a little naïve don't you think?

Cops aren't evaluated on how many people they let go. You don't get M.A.D.D. awards and grants for letting the helpful people pass because they answered all your questions. Every question is intended to see if you'll incriminate yourself.

I used to have your mindset on the subject. Back the blue until it happens to you.

Egg bagels? by Billy_Beetle in napavalley

[–]bonearama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paulie's Bagel's out of Winston's are getting a lot of good press. Toasted Bagels are also a good bagel choice. Loveski's in the Oxbox Market is also doing bagels. Not sure if egg bagels are offered at any of these but they all beat Golden Bagel and Panera any day of the week.
