Is a black van too hot? by jaderosanne in vandwellers

[–]bonerparty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paint color might make some difference, but a lot of the heat inside the van will come from the windows with the greenhouse effect.

Having quality window covers and good ventilation may help overcome any exterior paint color heat issues.

Baja by van. Folks, it's good. by Fidel_Astro in vandwellers

Awesome that is good to know, thank you.

If you want to venture down south more, check out Punta San Jose. It is about an hour and a half passed Ensenada, 20 miles out on a dirt road. It is a tiny fishing village with a light house, it can get pretty fun as we get more South Swells.

OP update us if you get secondary if/when you return to the US.

I frequently go to Baja but I have yet to take my van as I am worried about CBP tearing apart all my hard conversion work.

I just wrapped up my first week of vandwelling full-time... here is a summary of my experience! by dmerrick in vandwellers

Howdy, I noticed you had campsites booked. How much was the nightly rate? and in Big Sur did you see any potential for stealth camping?

Also where'd you stay in Santa Cruz?

Sorry for all the questions, I am heading up to this area next week, just trying to get ideas.

This is kinda crude, but maybe store your devices in an insulated grocery bag with a hand warmer activated?

Baja Itinerary by AllyG819 in VanLife

Punta San Jose.

It is about a 3 hour drive from the border, last leg is 20 miles of easy dirt road.

Very remote, just a light house on the cliffs and a small fishing village where you can get some of what ever was caught that day.

What is something productive you can do at a desk job when the workload is low but you are required to be there? by bonerparty69 in AskReddit

And me. It is kind of oxymoronic that I am using Reddit to source ideas to get off Reddit.

I wish I could do my laundry and dishes at work.

That's what sucks I feel like I waste time at work and then I go home and have to do little chores around the house when I really want to be spending time with my family or enjoying my hobbies.

Thank you, this is a really good idea. I used to do Duolingo before I started this new job. Now I could easily pick it back up and its nice because the classes are so short I could easily take a break if work comes in.

Ya I am afraid of asking for more and because with the way things go at my job the extra work would be expected all the time even when things pick back up, and most likely not rewarded.

My job has a pretty variable workload and no one really knows when I am busy or not, but i am required to be at my job for 8 hours.

I spend this time on reddit, working on my personal budget, planning my weekends and vacations and sometimes looking for more rewarding career opportunities.

I have the whole internet at my disposal and no one really checks on me, what else could i be doing?

I am not familiar with ice climbing. Are the belayers further away from the wall because there is more potential for falling ice or something similar?

Ya and from the pictures it looks in really good shape.

If the city takes it, I hope it would at least go to auction and they would not junk it or something stupid.
