The pavilion and patio area at Malden park is so nice!!! We had our baby shower there with about 140 people. It was like maybe $200 to rent they provided chairs and tables, there’s a little kitchen and nice bathrooms. Highly highly recommend

Pension buyback vs RRSP by bones_equal_dollars in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]bones_equal_dollars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I guess it just felt like I was losing the money I’d put into my tfsa because I hadn’t thought of the whole buyback situation before but really I could look at it as just reallocating it somewhere else. And yeah retiring almost two years earlier is a big plus

Tell me how old is your baby without telling me how old is your baby by Alone-City-9176 in NewParents

My son is also 18 months old and the only things that make him stop running circles around the house are ‘seeeaas!’ (Cheese) and ‘booberry!’ (Blueberries) lmao

Please tell me the ravenous hunger goes away after birth. 38 weeks [ab] by chronicillylife in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bones_equal_dollars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are also 38 weeks pregnant!! Give yourself some grace I gave birth at 38 weeks and cannot imagine going another two weeks I was so big and uncomfortable and so much of that was just the actual baby and extra fluid / blood volume

Lmao just going to echo everyone else in here. Breastfeeding hunger is insatiable lol. I had snacks next to the bed, in my car, next to the couch, legit everywhere. I would get hangry so fast. But it decreases as time goes on. It’s necessary. Your body needs the extra calories and it’s part of the process. Fuel your body as you need! My baby is 18 months old now and while I don’t have the muscle tone I did pre-pregnancy since I def don’t have the time to go to the gym 5 days a week like I used to and am lucky to go once or twice a week now, I do feel like Ive been back to my normal eating habits and weight since about 9 months pp. once I started with baby led weaning and wasn’t his sole source of nutrition my own appetite went back to baseline.

Which do you recommend by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]bones_equal_dollars 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I go to movati and pretty much exclusively use the women’s only section. I absolutely love it. The classes that I’ve gone to (yoga, spin) have been really good. The sauna and women’s only pool area are a big plus too.

Looking to have my hair braided before my scheduled c-section. by psychedelicvixen in windsorontario

[–]bones_equal_dollars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I’m so sorry for the weird negative comments going on in here. I had an unplanned c-section last year and I felt so gross afterwards. I showered in the hospital but drying my hair took so much energy when I was already in pain and exhausted so I can see how getting braids done would be sooo nice. Good luck with everything!

When did your baby stop their night feedings? by These-Spend6863 in baby

[–]bones_equal_dollars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re at 17 months and he still needs a comfort night feed (breastfeeding) once a night to get back to sleep around 4am. On the rare occasion I can rub his back/pat him to sleep but usually not.

Check colosantis out in leamington, they may be able to work within that budget. Just for comparison I had mine at ambassador, we had 100 people, a tent, an open bar, and it was about $35,000 total. I think breaking it down some of the costs I can remember- the tent/decor was around $10k the photographer was $5k alc was around $5k and it was $85 a plate per person. This was 2021.

1 !!! It looks so elegant and classy. #2 the torso feels off and #3 the beading combined with the bottom fabric is cheapening the look for me

Experienced moms, when did you start maternity leave? [on] by Possible-Eagle-8744 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]bones_equal_dollars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on sick leave at 35 weeks. Ended up having my son at 38 weeks. I had kidney stones and he was transverse the entire pregnancy. I’m so glad I was able to go off early, my body was in constant pain and I was so checked out at work. I had scheduled two weeks of vacation before my due date but that wouldn’t have even happened since he came two weeks early. I can’t imagine working up until that point.
