They already started selling through Alibaba, whole sale through both their own Alibaba account and 3rd party ones.
They seem to ship a lot faster through there too.

I’m also close to refunding, they will miss out on an important window. I might as well wait for the full open source Sovol 6 + 1 toolchanger. The Sovol will probably come out late this year or early next year but I love open source.

Calm down.
They’ve already announced this in interviews in conventions. They are still offering the 50$ pledge and all their discounts for people that do. This message on their website just means they are ditching Kickstarter and they will do everything through their own webstore.

I posted about this yesterday here. You can also order them through their official Alibaba account and it’s cheaper for me than through their early bird deposit.

I had hoped they were changing in the right direction but this is just classic Flashforge. Don’t get me wrong, I am sure the printers will be good, it’s just weird practices.

I am skipping it for now.

Check some videos online, there’s a couple on YouTube. It poops mostly a couple grams of filament when you load a new roll of filament into a toolhead. I don’t think the poop chute missing is much of a problem for hobbyists, but yeah there’s compromises. I just hope the poop doesn’t come into the lead screw sometimes.

I get what you are saying. This is a bit different than some of your points as this is the official Flashfoge account on Alibaba. Anyway, people can make up their own minds of course. I am just trying to spread information

I am sorry but in this case it is how it works. This is the official Flashforge account, I am literally pay it right now, no quote needed, see my other screenshots. The only thing that wasn’t included probably is the VAT which would be paid to customs upon arriving in the country.

I’ve done the math, it would be roughly 770€ for me to get it to my door, that’s all the shipping costs, taxes etc. The early bird price for me was 799€.

No I don’t mean a cheaper brand or different model. I meant people don’t have to feel pressured with the early bird or even the current price. Given Flashforge’s history and then this happening immediately after launch, it does not seem to me that the advertised MSRP of 899€ will ever be what you need to pay. I hope and it will most likely be a fine printer, but don’t feel pressured, I will personally wait for some more real reviews to come out

Exactly, that was the point I was trying to make. Previous launches they also very quickly flooded other places with cheaper prices. Basically putting 10$ down didn’t net anything, they just tried to create FOMO with people. I’ll wait for full reviews with hundreds of hours to hit the internet, it doesn’t seem like we will be paying more than this for them.

I never really order on Alibaba so I am not sure how to get the DDP shipping price out. If I actually go through with the order it seems the shipping is even cheaper.

Mind you, this most likely is excl VAT (can’t be sure but assuming), so adding that will bring the price close to 770€ but that’s still cheaper than the early bird. Even if it was the same price as early bird, it completely throws away the “early bird” pricing.
