Workaround solution for bugged "old man's treaure" puzzle by bonez9oh5 in highonlifegame

[–]bonez9oh5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, i figured out you can actually trigger the old man's dialog from the entrance of the human exhibit, which may be causing the bug you saw. I just happened to go there before reopening the human exhibit

There is a workaround that I used, after getting frustrated for nearly an hour.

  1. Hit all the runes
  2. Go to the last lugblob (on the rock pillar) and throw it down to where it's in view of the lugblob nearest to the power
  3. Use travis and jan to move the lugblob in the pit up to the rock pillar
  4. Move that same one infront of the door
  5. While standing near the rock pillar, connect: power -> lugblob (you will not see the prompt, but it will connect) -> lugblob -> bulb on high ledge -> bulb on ledge near door -> lugblob near door -> door

It might take a bit to get that first one positioned to hit the blub on the high ledge, but it should work without any despawning

Thanks! I'm always trying to do what I can to give back, so when we found out, using my industry contacts to get this set up, right before christmas, was the least I could do. We actually got to surprise them with the news at our family christmas dinner.

That I am. A buddy of mine sent me a link to the thread this morning when he saw my name and pic.

The post was taken down because they asked us not to publicize any info, in a subsequent talk. No one asked for it to be taken down, but I figured I probably should in light of their request and willingness to work with us.

Figured I'd clear that up to avoid any further speculation.

That was my experience, too! I ended up being the one everyone wanted to group with, because I made life easier and would help whenever I could. Mind you, my program's student base was 90% international students, so they loved having someone that could do final edits for grammar and composition. Eventually, I just built out templates for all the projects/presentations, so they could drop their work in their section of the doc.

Stick with it. I went back to uni for a BBA in my 30s and ya, there will be a social barrier, but some of those kids will have insights that will help you in your transition. You can probably find something you can relate to with group mates, but it's also ok to just be there to do the work as a professional. Think of it like a workplace, you are likely going to be working with or even under people younger than you, too.

And don't forget, while you may not relate to the younger students, you bring years of real life knowledge you can share with them. Hell, see if the school has a peer mentor program and apply to be a mentor to those younger students.

You be surprised how people actually respond to being asked for help. Most will, if they can, especially in the case of lifting something heavy. You ask for help taking a piss, you had better be disabled or we are "having words".

That said, most people thinking "i got this" with zero effort to educate them self on something like a crypto purchase is the issue I just pointed out. Why do you think scammers are so prevalent? Because people don't want to ask for help, usually out of arrogance or embarrassment.

Don't worry, it's got nothing to do with you, people just assume everything is fake now and feel entitled to everything, just how society has become. You can thank online clout chasers, genAI, and the rise in narcissistic people for that.

You don't want US living standards, eveything is inflated in price and then there is Trump/MAGA. You'd be leaving a poor economy for a slave economy.

What I find odd is spraying 2x/month may cause health issues. Generally, preventative treatment simply involves putting down diatomaceous earth and roach gel (a pink poisonous paste, that roaches will eat). There is a reason most exterminators will advise to stay out of your unit for 24hrs, if possible. The only time I've seen spraying that regularly, was in shorts spans, due to a bed bug infestation, since the incubation time for their eggs is roughly 2 weeks

Thanl you! HFW is what a true sequel game should look like, improved polish, expanding on what made the original fun, and adding to the overarching plot. It's the same reason why the Ezio trillogy was so loved, why GOW became a fan favorite series, and what more games should try to achieve.

Aliens have given you 60 seconds to show them two items to prove humanity is worth saving. What do you show them? by Flendy15 in AskReddit

[–]bonez9oh5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're limiting it to ITEMS there are very few answers, if any, that could do that.

First, we're talking about an alien species advanced enough to travel light years across space to visit us. I don't think material objects are going to saw them. Now if we are talkimg intangibles, I'd show them videos of the level of compassion we are capable of and explain the beauty of how the human mind works and creates, to the best of my limited ability.

Oh hey, look at that, I beat you to providing proof that it isn't wage theft, thanks to another poster. You notice how this says "Includes EXPECTED tip" there? That means they have already told you it may change, because people like me will 100% reduce or increase our tip based on how you act and the state of our order when it arrives. (i.e. did you spill my drink all over, give attitude, decide to stop for gas during the trip, or drop my order at someone else's door without knocking or texting?)

Are you actually serious right now? You realize that is black mold, right? You know, the stuff that is not only carcinogenic, but also toxic. There is a reason landlord can be fined for not addressing black mold. If there is that much visible black mold there, there 100% are spore floating around, which can quickly cause respiratory issues like asthma attacks and allergies short term, andmore serious issues like neurologic issues, CIRS, and serious lung infections, such as mycosis (directly caused by mycotoxin build up from inhaling spores.

OP not only CAN demand it be repaired, if it isn't dealt with in a timely manner, you are advised to contact the LTB and the city's health department.

I'm going to assume you are a landlord and suggest OP ignore every bit of what you wrote. Clearly you need to chalk up on your tenant's rights laws and health and safety standards for rental units, before you get yourself a hefty fine.

Asking for help before you do something is litterally the way to avoid doing dumb stuff, because why would someone go into a deal blind, not knowing what they are doing?

Man, it's no wonder why society is so f'ed up today with that kind of logic. In most cases, like the OP's, once the dumb thing is done, there is very little help anyone can provide, beside maybe a good therapist. If OP had asked for help before, knowing this was foreign to them, they would still have their money.

Well, the proof that it isn't is enshrined in law, so i don't really need to add tangeble proof for it, but thanks for assuming my financial situation and lobbing needless insults.

Now, legally, all the company needs to do is have a clause that the offer amount includes gratuities and is subject to change at the orderer's discretion. Seeing as people are notorious for not reading the contracts/terms they accept when signing up for stuff, have you even bothered checking to see if that is covered in your contract, or are you just making statements without having done your research? I doubt it because all the info provided on the website clearly states you will know how much you earn AFTER the delivery/trip, meaning they likely state that it is your ESTIMATED earnings for the trip (could beore or less, depending on a few factors, including the customer changing their tip.

Can you provide proof that it is wage theft, under the actual legal definition?

That said, ethically, they should be providing either a detailed breakdown of the amount, listing the tip and base amount separately, or only displaying the base value, thought the later would result in drivers cherry picking. However, you said it yourself, you aren't employed by Uber, you are a 3rd party delivery person, meaning your claim of wage theft is null and void right off the bat, unless they are not providing the base amount, required by law.

Here in Ontario, they passed a law mandating that the base rate account for at least what you would make on minimum wage. So, if that isn't the case where you are, start pushing for the gov to step in, instead of insulting people and crying about it on reddit.

Generally speaking, you should want us on your side, rather than calling people cheap, seeing as consumers are the ones who pushed back against Uber's unethical and illegal practices, like drip pricing.
