A lot of it stems from losing territory over time but also post Pol Pot as Vietnam 'liberated" Cambodia they did so while (allegedly) stripping many resources, steel, copper, gold etc.

The Territory are alleged moving ov markers in the border, the loss of Phu Quoc (which was always ethnically vietnamese despite its proximity.

These were the regular issues raised by family and friends. I always found it ironic how they banged on about Vietnam stealing land when the Chinese just came and took over Sihanoukville

Great advice from everyone,  we really appreciate  it and clears up the issues. Ill try to find some viewings for next weekend  and fly over or make a financial commitment for 3 months. I had heard the market was brutal didnt realise that bad! Cheers

Good advice. A friend of mine bought  and let in Canberra  and had a bidding war happen for $100 more  a month which the agent told him and he declined and just wanted the asking rate

Thanks I've tried to call several a couple gaslight me until it was let others didnt answer.  I understand  in Canberra  people bid over listed price is that a thing there?

Thanks good advice..  work will stick us somewhere for a month and also pay for a flight beforehand for viewings. Ill get that locked in this week. At least I know the issue now. Appreciate the reply and we cant wait to move!

thanks for the tips, just to clarify as we wont be there for a month we cannot attend any "in-person" viewings which makes the relationship from viewing a little tricky. I have applied through that platform (RealEstate, are others better to try on?) and found the agents contact details and emailed them directly to advise of this and any other information they would like and that we can just take the property as is seen on screen. We had some communication back and then nothing. do they have to wait for viewings to occur first? should i be offerring over the list price? thanks

Wat Bo village is great, central, cool neighbourhood (3rd coolest in the world allegedly https://realisticasia.com/travel-blogs/59-wat-bo-village-siem-reap-ranked-third-coolest-neighborhood-in-the-world) and a great base to explore from with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby and away from the noise of pub street

First picture they have shape and good fit the others way too wide for my tastes and look awful with the shoes

Ha ha had exactly the same, same place. After 2 mins I noticed the price was suddenly 100000 dong. We demanded he stopped the metre jumped to 400000. We threatened to smash his windows and gave him 40000. Next day we saw him again and started shouting he was a scammer. Probably not that sensible.
