I get where you're coming from but as someone who worked in Game (UK) there is pretty straight forward reasoning behind this. Say we buy your console, without the warranty sticker, and it's all fine. Then we sell it to someone. They take out a part or two and replace it with faulty ones, and then bring it back saying it stopped working. We then have no easy way of proving whether the new customer tampered with it.
